Morality and Ethics
    #4533656 - 08/14/05 01:47 PM (11 years, 11 months ago)

Is there a difference between morality and ethics - acting morally and acting ethically?

beyond semantics, I dunno...

I think morality has an artificial religious nature, whereas ethics is knowingly expressed as a manmade control device... dunno though...

Without cracking the dictionary (a sin), I would say that morality is external (society imposed) whereas ethics are internal or personal.

ethics is a branch of philosophy; it is the theories concerning how humans should behave.

morality can be anything to do with 'right' and 'wrong' really.

hehe...in dungeons and dragons morals are the axis from good to evil, and ethics from law (order) to chaos.
