false assumptions

i've noticed so many people holding on to beliefs they believe to be logically true when in reality their conclusions are based on false assumptions. take the belief in heaven for example, when i first heard of heaven and hell i envisioned a version of heaven and hell that could not possibly exist and then rejected any belief in heaven as irrational. later in my life i experienced a state of conciousness i would call heaven and i thought "oh, so that's heaven" realizing that all my arguments against it were based on false assumptions about what it actually was. so many of our beliefs are in fact based on false assumptions.

That could be true of all of our beliefs. We may not ever have enough information to know the full truth. If there is one. :mushroom2:

yea, beliefs are coordinated by our assumptions.

People don't believe in tooth fairies because they ASSUME that they defy laws of physics.

I don't know where this assumptions come from, they seem to be like mental waste comming as a byproduct of regular thinking

I think its what we do when we have limited information and want an answer to take action with. I think its a result of a lack of patience to seek further. I like how you called it a by product of other human character flaws.
