casing smells like fruit...

This isnt in contam because there is no visible problem. seems normal, its not 100% colonized, but there doesnt look to be anything wrong, but it has a strong smell of citrus/fruit or something. casing is made of 50/50 verm/peat moss. any ideas why or can it only be due to contamination?

Could it be a contam on the bottom of the casing cause by standing water? I dont know, but its a possibility. Did you use anything except verm and moss?

at the bottom there is no standing water, and u can see the broken up cakes down there(colonized) there is also signs of colonization on the surface, but verm and moss are it. its a clear container so all sides are visible and nothing looks odd

Fruit smells usually indicate bacterial infection.
