my casing smells..... :(

i checked my casing today and it smells fucked up. smells nasty.... does mycelium have a certain smell. my terrium was very humid with a heading pad on the bottom.

It should smell mushroomery at the most. Sour and rotting fruity smells are BAD!

so how can u describe a mushroom smell....good,bad werid tangy...i dunno. plus im not sure if it is myceluim. its white n thaz all i know. while it was in the jar no signs of growth. i jus decided to give up so i jus threw it on some unsterile soil/verm and checked it a week or less later and was covered with white stuff. checked it today n smells bad but there are no signs of grey mold. plus on a lil corner i decide to spray water and see if the mold would disinagreat but it didnt i think that this might be........cauz if it is this is my first and im really exicited that atleast something grew. regardless if it ws some garbage but something grew. uknow

Go to the store and smell one of those packages of fresh mushrooms. If that isn't the smell and your not using oyster shell then you probably have a problem. You can try to get more air to it and just wait and see. If it's something nasty it won't happen and you'll know your fucked.

Lift the mycellium with a sterile instrument and sneak inside the casing, it should be all mycellium, if it's not then it's bad.

that is not mycellium at all. its mold. and it probably smells like shit too. i wouldnt count on it at all.
