Cool photos MagicRooms, are you actually intending to eat them?
I wouldn't mess with them personally, but I love finding them because they're such beautiful and unique shrooms.
I always thought it was a little late in the year for Amanita.. I see loads of them around April/May but they've now vanished from their usual spots. Nice find anyway!

thanks Fina, I love finding them and I intend to leave them to finish the flush. It seems a bit late and I also think May to be the best time but this is a new spot so I will keep you posted.

I found about 10-13 of these at a bus stop in Katoomba a few months ago. I took some pictures, but they didn't turn out all too well, and they were taken on an analogue (no digital that day). But yes, they are amazing to look at.
there were some growing right into the house next to the bus stop and within Centimeters of the kids playing equipment. Lets hope he grows up to be a shroomer :smile:.

I hope that all people of this planet can learn about the Kingdom of the Fungi, education and storing our data on any fungi we find should keep us very busy. I hope you have a camera ready and waiting for you next discovery.

I plan to take some more photos of my patch of Amanita Muscaria this weekend.


Now I like to leave then and watch them grow especially when there is not enough to collect, I know what that are, there is no need to do a spore print, or ask for an ID, I have experienced their power. So it's time to have my camera ready for the next flush.

Mt Crawford in SA fruits these things like nobodys buisiness. a couple years ago i have seen thousands of A. muscaria in certain walking trails there, of course it was a lot earlier in the season tho like april or may. A lot of them had there caps faded white

A week or so ago i found plenty of beautiful bright and vibrant amanita muscaria, a few of them were bigger than i have ever seen before, of course, i didn't take my camera.. My friend picked the biggest one and I put it in my broken break light as a car mod but the bumpy road on the way home made it fall off :P. They are pretty though, and it seems some places will fruit later.
