    #4294853 - 06/14/05 11:56 AM (18 years, 9 months ago)

Found some subbs but they where mixed with foes. I think i read that foes are not bad to eat but was not sure. THere are a lot of mixed reports ive read. THe collection of subbs was mixed with foes so just wondering if i were to eat a few if it would be bad.

On second thought, if youre not sure what is what, then you might have more species than you think there. I recall my previous post. DONT eat anything until we have some pics for ID or you are positive of all of your specimens.

I think they can be found in large numbers in lawns of freshly laid sod. I also recall someone finding them in a non-sod lawn. I think that was last fall.
Also, being that fungi absorb contaminants unlike plants, is it safe to eat mushrooms from a golf course that might have pesticides? Is it safe to do so often?

Everyone says weilii have a chemical taste..... I agree.

Where they grow is rich suburbs. Rich people pay to have their lawn sprayed not only for bugs, but to help the grass grow. It's my theory that weilii contain high levels of (possibly) harmful chemicals.
Same goes for any mushroom growing anywhere where pesticides or fertilizers are used.

Safe... What is safe?
Driving on the freeway with the windows down? Smoking cigs? Living in America? Fuck no, we are at the highest danger ever.
Not only physically but genetically, mutations are going to skyrocket into
the medical phenomenon of the new millennium. It's already begun.
So, if you find mushrooms in an area you know has been sprayed with pesticides and fertilizers( pretty much everywhere you would find a psilocybe weilii or lawn panaeolus subbalteatus, you must weigh your scales. IS IT more harmful, or will you benefit spiritually from the trip 10x more.. perhaps even digging into the soul genes themselves, accepting your ready fate. What is harmful, and what is worth it?

Keep in mind when picking mushrooms from areas that a likely to have external toxins that fungi tend to concentrate the dangerous chemicals from their environment in the fruit body. Particularly carcinogens from what I've read.

I'd like to see Psilocybe Weilii added to the shroomery dosage calculator. Maybe a thread could be held to get local reports and confirmed dosages.
A Georgia field guide would be great too, I know there are lots of people with ready information. I'd help.

Here's your field guide to picking shrooms in Georgia:
(In three easy steps)

1) Drive to Monroe
2) Open eyes
3) Pick shrooms off of shit

Lather, Rinse, Repeat.
Wait, that's not quite right...
