fat shroom

Hey, This shroom that was growing turned out to be real fat. Like 1" thick fat but it is also like 1" tall. The thing is, is that the cap is no bigger than the stem. It is just on top (it's hard to explain), like it doesn't have a cap like a regular shroom. Not like an umbrella, to make an analogy, there is a cap but it is connected to the stem directly. should i pick this? Is it safe to eat? The other thing is is that I spotted some grey mycelium in the casing so i sprayed it with H2O2/water solution. Is this safe to carry on now?

Sounds like a big abort! As far as if it's safe to eat, well I can't tell ya, need more info. on that grey mycl. What substrate your using, and strain? If it's grey that it might be cont. but can't be sure untill you show/tell......need more info. Try posting on CONTAMNATION forum.....better luck there maybe.

I can't tell ya if it's actually cobweb mold (that's what it would be if it was a contam) but, even if it was i read somewhere that it wouldn't do anything to the mycelium/fungi anyway. I think... I'll eat the fatty and see what happens to the rest, thanks for the input.

Well if your confident....go for it! But make sure it's worth it. What I mean by that....is make sure you have more shrooms to eat then just that one. You want a good trip right?
