No I haven't
Well about 6 years ago I was doing some kind of anger thing, the guy was a fake so I quit going. When i'm with someone like that I won't talk, it's strange when I do start to talk tears fill my eyes, I still have no clue why.
My mom really wants me to go somewhere but it's just to hard for me to do that, because I wouldn't know what to say or how to start a convorsation.

Well if you find someone good it might help. I've found from my own experience that psychologists are better to talk to than psychiatrists. Usually the psychiatrists are just better at handling medication. But I think if you tried talking to a good psychologist then maybe it'd help. maybe you can get a recommendation from someone or something, or just go around and try it to see who's out there. i dunno..
you could also try a combination of antidepressants with therapy. antidepressants can be a bitch, but there's a chance they might help also. and tears fill your eyes because it's emotional for you, isn't it? well whatever.. but talking to someone about this stuff may help you if you can find someone that's good. im just trying to help..

I know you're just helping and i'm thankful for that
I'd rather not talk to anyone around this town though, I hate them all and it's not because I don't understand it's more like to understand to much about them. They are ignorant, greedy, self caring assholes you can't trust a single one, probably the reason i'm like the way I am, fuckers.

I think i'll look up some local psychologists on some kind of search engine. I've heard a lot of bad stuff about antidepressants and I know this one kid who is taking them, the days he didn't you can tell he didn't because he was in tears.

Also remember, you always have the Shroomerites of this forum to talk to whenever you need to.  We're always willing to share opinions and advice.  Personally, I've had horrible experiences with antidepressants, especially SSRI's, and am in the midst of one.  I don't recommend these drugs as treatment unless all else has failed.  All else that is safer.

I hope you can feel better one day for the rest of your life. :frown:

I'd guess it's also pretty much what we pay for living in this 21st century urban society. Ever heard of "the missing million" in Japan? Those are adolescents and young adults that feel overwhelmed by the Japanese society, feel unable to fulfill their expected social roles, and react with complete social withdrawal i.e. lock themselves in a single room for months or even years. It's called the hikikomori syndrome.

I am not gonna sit here and say a bunch of shit I know nothing about. First you really ought to just take a good look around yourself, see how others are acting and the way they move, speak, and FEEL. If you take the time to absourb the nearby energy of others you might be less inclined to observe your own feelings of inbalance and so on. Make eye contact, and when you do think about whats in that persons head by the way they look back. Smile at strangers when you pass them, and if they don't smile back just laugh, it's their paranoia then and not yours! You can't just be told, "be more confident", if you can't see what it means. You're no differant from me, except maybe that you feel your own feelins and thoughts a little better, this is a good thing!!! And why really worry about how it all turns out in the end, just enjoy the dream while your in it. Once you realize you still asleep you can begin to make changes you never thought possible.

Sound advice. I'm going to have to try a lot of these things.

I have lost out on a a few relationships due to my in-capability to socialise, i dont know whats wrong with me, i wouldnt class myself as anti-social because im not, i have alot of friends and i "socialise" often, but most the time i find it hard, i just dont know what to say, most people can just come up with something of the top of their head, but i just stand there like a goon, i hate myself for it, sometimes i just wanna slap myself.

the only way to be able to have these social skills that you are lacking is to practice. you never have anything to say? well its prolly more like you dont think that others would be interestd in what you have to say. if you do not like the topic of discussion take off on a tangent that may only vaguely relate to what the others are taling about, just dont worry that others dont want to hear what you have to say, you be surprised that mybe others feel the sam way as you, its all about finding connections.

Your a non-conformist, thats all, you shouldnt beat yourself up about it, if others want to waste there energy on mindless small talk then thats there problem, just remian as you are and observe your mind and see just how futile and meaningless there conversation is, i love to just sit there and let people talk until they have nothing left to say, then they realize that even the sweetest sounds die in silence, sometimes that the best teaching anyone can recieve, fuck the foogy conditioned notion of normality, your fine as you are and most likly have more awareness than most.

Being the 'Alpha male' means being agressive and more or less an asshole when it comes to women. On the plus side you do actually get women, as most of them under thirty seem to be attracted to assholes, but on the minus side you end up feeling empty and negative inside.

Better to be a 'beta loner' if you ask me, much more potential for happiness in just being as you are, instead of what others expect you to be.

Assholes, are assholes. I have always been a nice guy and everything, not very aggressive, wouldn't start shit with anyone for no good reason. But i was being abit of an asshole towards people, saying bad stuff about them for no apparent reason, i still don't know why, maybe it made me feel better? because i was bored? i don't know. But i started feeling empty inside, started thinking negative thoughts. This made me feel very empty inside, even my head felt empty. So i decided to stop, think positive and stop being such as ass. Now i feel much better, more out going, better person.

Bit off the subject, but it was shrooms which made me see the real me, with the consequences. It wasn't nice, but it was 100% true. To see from that perspective can be impossible without the magic of the shrooms, i suggest you go on a special journey of self discovery  to have a long think about who you are, where you are, and what you want to make of yourself. Look at your faults, improvements, positives, negatives. It's all possible.

It will all pay off in the end, you just need to find your self

Also may i suggest pushing yourself to social events, gigs, concerts, bars, clubs, hangouts, call up a few friends. Push yourself to socialize. Like i mentioned in my previous post, I'm not the most sociable person you'll ever meet, but over the past few months i have been making an effort to change, to get out there, instead of wasting my life. You only live once, so you mite as well make a go of it, face your fears and stand up for what you want in live. Anyways that just my 2 cents.

Peace,
Mushie Man

If by "doctor" you mean psychologist, then yes. I'd stay away from psychichiatrists and drugs.

Other than that, I think this topic is coming towards it's conclusion; a lot of people above me have given you some great advice. I hope you get resolve this issue whether that brings about social change or not.

im so much the same way. i don't want to sound arrogant or whatever, but most of the people i try talking to seem to be retarded. i have almost nothing in common with other people outside my very small group of friends. im in college so pretty much every guy is trying to get some and all the girls are obsessed with their self image, and amazingly no one wants to talk about real things. Why would you rather talk about the weather or how drunk you have gotten or what new parties there are coming up then have a discussion on religion/death or some inspiring band's music or something like that?

Another obstacle for me i guess is that i pretty much have no morals. I can't get offended by anything really... and can really turn some people off by things i say. there really is no right and wrong, just social 'taboos'.

last night me and my roomate went outside to some kegger by our apartment and some girl was standing there talking to someone and noticed my roomates shirt which had the picture of a molecule on it and asked "Hey have you taken organic chemistry?" first of all, this conversation would have been boring as shit just like every "Whats your major?" type of people, so he responded with what it really was: "No, this is heroin". her jaw dropped and she turned away... this has been what most our encounters are like. i have given up

something really nice i have noticed though is that opiates, namely 30-40mg hydrocodone, really turn things around. I become friendly and really like/want to talk to people even about anything. Its really strange, but I guess I can attribute it to the euphoria. maybe normally im depressed or something, who knows

that is true.. but definitely not a good thing to start and get a habit with. so thats absolutely not the way to go..
