What's the best software for creating psychedelic music (Psy-trance) and where can I download it?
Ever tried it while shroomin'?

You can download a program called "Buzz" for free. It has endless possibilties and you can get different "gear" for it for free on the internet. Just run a search for it, you'll find it....
It might take some time to get use to the features, but once you do, you just slide through it. And If you want to record while you're trippin, you might want to have the basic structure of your song set up first so you can spend more time with the effects.
Oh yeah, and there is a download for it that let's you control things like cutoff and resonance with a game pad... a MUST if you're trippin!

For rave type music you can start with Rebirth (free demo, needs a crack - search any warez site) and Fruity Loops (also a popular d/l at any warez site)

Rebirth is fun, though I didn't get too in to the groove of it, too much learning involved

Acid Style is pretty good, i think it's $99 though (if you buy it)

I'd like to shift my vote to acid... that's what I've made most of my tracks with, and while your trippin' - it would be the best because you don't have to put all the thought and brainwork in it. You just play with your sounds. But if you are serious about wanting to make psytrance, not just to play around with, you'll need another program to go with it for making your own sounds (like buzz) or get sample cds, or start collecting samples off the net. Just jump into it.... it will build itself up around you.

Magix music is a great program and has many addons.. It also comes with a professional studio that has much more options than Acid but the program is more memory instnse than Acid.
Fruity Loops is the BEST and when used with Rebirth you can put on a really GREAT live show.. I use a Roland 303 with my lap top running 2 simultaneous fruity loops programs, along with a BOSS jungle machine and my Keyboard for my sampler and effects.. with only this basic set up I can put on a full blown Gabber/jungle performance so scarry itll freak all the little trippers out of the room....

iTunes for Mac users is pretty cool. especially enhanced by mushies. Great full screen visuals, music correspondent.
