I guess if you dipped a crack rock in PCP it would be psychedelic. I've never done PCP though and I don't know how rare it is.

I know I really enjoyed Sonic Youth's 'NYC Ghosts & Flowers' when I heard it for the first time on acid. As for The Beatles, the earlier stuff isn't really psychedelic, but I have listened to 'Sgt. Peppers Lonely Hearts Club Band' and the white album on shrooms and both them were excellent, enjoyed by all. The Beatles have a very distinct vibe to them I find. I can think of a lot of other cool psychedelic music, but it isn't really rock. But yeah, most of the bands mentioned in all the above posts should be pretty groovy. Pink Floyd for sure, I love 'Piper at the Gates of Dawn' - excellent!

I reccomend Bardo Pond for a heavier, sludgier, almost delirious vibe. Sgt. Pepper or Revolver by the Beatles are good - the song "Tomorrow Never Knows" is amazing. Olivia Tremor Control is a 60's influenced band that are prone to psychedelic freak-outs. I recommend their album "Dusk At Cubist Castle". Circulatory System are another 60's influenced band, but a bit more subdued. I'll post more as I think of it.
