Actually, it was because the entire supply from europe was contaminated and it is not made in the US because there is not much money in it. If we knew that all the vaccine would be trashed, you can damn well bet that flu shot production plants would have been popping up like crazy here. This is not something likely to happen again.

Lie to yourself all you want, the flu shots may be free to the Americans, but they are not free to Canadian taxpayers. It is a reality of life that anything 'free' that does not come directly from nature requires the efforts of someone to pay for it. Though the cost may be hidden and not always directly born by the recipients, rest assured that someone IS paying for it. The big lie of socialism is that things can be had for free from the government. If this were so, there would be no need for taxes nor would there be any legal manipulation of the money supply to transfer wealth from the productive segments of society to those who live off of them.

Well, I half agree with you. The world would be plunged into total chaos if we did away with political systems, but it may be for the long-term good. I suppose there's no way we'll know, at the moment.

The system wouldn't just vanish straight away , unless we went around bombing every countries government...strange thought...Anyway, it'd be a gradual process. We know that none of the systems we have, or have ever had, work, I'd say that's pretty good evidence.

That's a great post.
I myself have given up on trying to find a clean moral political system. Libertarianism comes the closest, but still falls short.
So I've come to believe that a government just needs to do what will work best for their particularly nation and its populace. Sometimes that means pure capitalism. Sometimes that means socialism. Sometimes that means being somewhere in the middle. I think as long as a nation has a strong constitution and has free elections, along with basic civil liberties, it can have the potential to be very successful.

What happens if you elect a party and relalise afterward it was a mistake because everything they promised turned out to be a lie, and you have to live with it for the next several years of your life?

What if the choice of parties is so small, and so similiar, there are none that you agree with for you to make a vote?

What if the political parties have so much power and influence over people that it is impossible for them to ever dare to imagine a world without them?

What good does your government do that we can't do?
