Very nice and even growth. Did you use a print, a syringe, or just cloned from a cap?

Cloned from a cap and then isolated a good sector

I guess that it can change from rhizo to linear or cottony or vice versa at anytime during the growth(The Mushroom Cultivator) but I have never experienced that once a good sector has been isolated.

if its a clone then all sectors would have all been the same strain even though one was growing faster then the other, unless you were removing it from contams

What type of agar? Pdy

It was PDA and you are misinformed. Different sectors can arise from a single strain(TMC)

Isnt it something to do with mutations or mutation like something within the mycelium? It can just randlomly pop up and get some linear or cotton growth in there?

you said you cloned. A fruit requires one male and one female. They join together and form a fruit. Once cloned all shrooms from that specimen will have the exact same genetics. You are misinformed! The sectors come from a petri started from spores or transfers there after

How does this isolate a strain? Maybe i'm not up to date with the term, what's a pure strain and an isolated strain and is there a such thing as a mixed strain ....i know there's not but what do you call a strain thats not pure....sry fer so many Q's...jus trying to clear things up.....thankx

IMHO, nutriant composition have much to do with rhizo, or cottony tpye myc growth & one can change fron the other & visa versa. I have witnessed that many times.

Rhizo is myc with terrain traveling & combat gear on & big teeth to gnaw with.

Cotton type is able to digest nutes as is.

Note, cotton type often turns rhizo at nute bare container sides & climbs wall.

Cotton type will most often turn rhizo when it contacts hard dung clump, or tough straw. It does so, to get into it with big teeth.

Maybe I should simplify this to clear things up. I took a piece from a fresh fruit and put it on the agar. Actually I did about 3 dishes to begin with. Some of the dishes started off good and then turned to cottony..some linear. The dish that stayed strictly rhizo is where I took wedges and transferred them to more dishes of agar. I misused the word 'sectors' but a cloned strain 'can & does'in certain cases go from rhizo to linear or cottony or between these. That was all that I was trying to convey.
