For us, we might not be concerned with alien contact for another century or more (if we don't blow ourselves up before that),
but a human 'century' could very well seem like a tiny amount of time for advanced beings.
I dunno, its just an idea i tossed up in the air to see how it would land.

i beleive it would be the same amount of time unless they were coming from some other dimension where time moves at a greater rate than in this universe.
if you assume they are in the same universal time zone, then it would be no different in actual time. of course there is the possibility that they have the ability to be immortal beings, therefore only the perception of time would be relevant to them.

YA, i think i was talking about their perception of time compared to ours, because if they're advanced beings, then surely they know how to live for a very long time. Maybe even some of them have spent part of their life studying homo sapiens since its appearance on earth!
You know how if you assumed the age of Earth to be one year, then homo sapiens have only lived here for like, the last couple of seconds of the 31st of december?
Now i'm interrogating myself about whether or not having a higher consciousness has an effect on perception of time?

That makes for an interesting post topic in itself. If a higher consciousness is beyond recognition of separations and divisions, then yes, time would take on a more ethereal quality of standing still as one ongoing moment, not one of event sequences.
Some say time is the space between things. if you are not in separation consciousness, there is no thing to be spaced a part from another so ya, good question, what happens to time perception or the experience of it then?
BTW, you know the stuff I read and all sorts of stuff is coming out about "any day now and official we are here contact announcement will be made"
My sources show me different. They are choosing to stay behind the scenes by impulsing ideas for US to create the changes of the time. We as humans have to believe that WE turned this planet around with our own intelligence.
if they landed and did it for us, most would end up worshipping them like gods as was done in the past and that was NOT GOOD for them or human kind. Good in that more growth lessons were learned for both parties, however, they learned and will not make any official global contact until we can meet them as our equals and not gods.
Take that info for what its worth to ya. I may be wrong and having dinner with some ET next month or never on this planet.

Yes, this is the reason why i think official contact won't happen for a long time.
But who knows, maybe an official contact itself could trigger off the mental shift that we need to perceive them as our equals.
I doubt that chaos would rule the streets if such a thing happened..maybe some people wouldn't be able to take it and just go crazy, but IMO it could take the form of an awakening process for the majority.

On topic, bearing in mind the theory of relativity, all one would have to do to speed up time in relation to everything else, is travel fast!!! Aliens and humans are both capable of time travel. In fact, walking along is a very very minor form of travelling into the future.
In terms of official contact, it won't happen until we humans can travel to distant reaches of the galaxy. I cannot see it aiding a higher intelligence in any way, to inform humans of there existance.
Aliens study us, as we study rats. They are simply a higher species in the evolutionry chain. Although, unfortunately, currently shunned by the human race thanks to fear of the unknown.
I view shaking an aliens hand (or tentacle  ) no more fearful than petting a cat (without the fur tho, I suspect ).
P.S Please don't any1 start another, I belief, I don't belief thread! That has been covered quite enough in here...
