I just watched the movie Contact and it's funny how much I feel like the main character... I've experienced contact with "beings" but theres no way to accurately describe it to any scientist or skeptic. Oh ya, and Swami reminds me of that government official who gets his panties in a wad trying to debunk her.

Ya it's a great film. I liked that bit at the start where the camera pans out from the earth and then you see how insignificant earth is...really puts things in perspective.

I was looking back at some of these old threads and I found this one.
First I'd like to say that Contact is a great movie. I feel this way partly because my two favorite actors, Matthew McConnahey (sp?) and Jodi Foster.
Second, I think that Contact DID change the way I think.

The book is much better than the movie. The books ending is much stronger and quite a bit different from the movie. I saw the movie first and wasn't that impressed, but the book really gives a lot to think about.
