How has the SHROOMERY changed your life?

It's been around for ~7 years now.. that's almost two presidential terms.. (unless you are unlucky enough to get bush twice in a row..)
How has this place affected you? What have you learned? What is the meaning behind the madness. Are we a unique counter-culture community, a growing network of psychoactive collective intelligence.. destined to change the world.. or are we just another schlub.. or somewhere in between.
I first found the shroomery through google in late 98 while searching about growing mushrooms.. I lurked for a while reading cultivation a lot and learning how to grow.. then I started venturing into S&P, and OTD.. back in those days.. there wasn't too many forums.. maybe 6 or 7. made friends, had fun, watched flame wars, enjoyed the vibe, post whored a little, changed my life.
Sure, it's been a source of addiction, shame, embarrasement, injustice, arrogance, hatred, jealousy, lust, greed.. and basically all the things "wrong" with the world today.. but that is the beauty of it.. it is self-healing.. these ego-allurements and 'vices' are being brought to the table to be transcended. We are multi-dimensional beings based on love and this is part of the healing process. That's just my crazy theory, take it with a grain of sand.
anyway.. some great and some tragic memories of the past... but always monumental. what mysteries await the Shroomery of the future...
I, for one, am excited.

Everytime I drop lsd, he shows up The shroomery is amazing, beyond words really. I've met quite a few shroomerites, many of whom I am good friends with now. The Shroomery bailed me out of jail.. I was like If it wasn't for the shroomery, I probably would have never learned to cultivate mushrooms, and gotten addicted to some MMORPG or something. and who knows what the fuck else.

Damn it! I took it with a grain of salt, now what do I do!?
Seriously, when I first saw the Shroomery, I was big into opiates and used them to function. I couldn't understand the appeal of taking a drug only once every couple of months nor could I understand the appeal of taking a drug "which only creates hallicinations". I only saw drugs as a means to an end of feeling good.
That is a HUGE change! lol It's almost funny that I used to think that, if it wasn't so pathetic as well. In my mind, Erowid and the Shroomery have already created a certain change in the world. That doesn't mean it's started a revolution which has legalized drugs and created a global utopia, but it does mean that at least one person has changed their view of themselves, the world and drugs.
One of the most benifical things about the Shroomery is the discussion of the more serious side of drugs. Most non-Shroomery people I talk to have two reactions to the topic of drugs; A) Total taboo or B) Itz kewl to get fuked up on, lolololololol.
It's like speaking a different language except at the Shroomery where most people "get it".
-------------------- The very nature of experience is ineffable; it transcends cognitive thought and intellectualized analysis. To be without experience is to be without an emotional knowledge of what the experience translates into. The desire for the understanding of what life is made of is the motivation that drives us all. Without it, in fear of the experiences what life can hold is among the greatest contradictions; to live in fear of death while not being alive.

I haven't been posting here all that long, but it has most definitely given me something to do while I'm online. Much better than warping my mind with online flash video games.

Wow, what a great thread. I was thinking about this just the other day actually. I've been reading the shroomery for ever but I just started posting regularly over the last week. Anonymous self expression for the masses sums it up the best. I get on here and read someone else's idea or plight, something I can relate to, and then I type out my thoughts on the subject, learning a little bit about myself in the process, and being left with that great feeling that self expression brings, similar to having a really great conversation with a person you connect with deeply. That is the shroomery to me.
Oh yeah, and it tought me to grow shrooms!

Mannnn, your posts in S&P .....they didn't change my life, but they greatly changed my perception on life, you contributed alot in making my trips and my life more insightful and worthwhile, you're like my Morpheus really, i just don't understand why you seem to be the only person to talk about such things, ie dimensions densities etc...
