My Final Composition for My Music Degree

As some of you have been following, I composed an electronic piece this past semester to conclude my music degree.
Go Here to listen to the final version.
It is called "Requiem for my Childhood", and is somewhat programmatic of how a child's innocence is eventually corrupted.
Samples are free-use, music was done with Cubase SX2, Fruity Loops 4 and 5, and many VST's and effects. This took a ton of hours over this past fall semester.
Please let me know what you think! It's mostly an electronic ambient, symphonic soundscape.
I Hope You Like It.

I put on my headphones and listened to it, I like it, interesting soundscapes. (other comments were already posted in previous threads)
you can tell you put a lot of work into it
I'm thinking about getting a book on cubase SX and rewire it with Reason

wow... let me just say that i hate almost EVERYTHING i hear from unsigned artists on the internet, probably because i am one myself, but anyways...
i really, really like this. your use of the atmospheres and textures came out really well, and i really like the panning you did in certain parts. the mood translates very well too. from the beginning where it seems like blissful childhood ignorance, to the part where it starts spiraling out of control, it gradually builds into a darker/more anti-social/neurotic theme with hints of spiritual undertones...
anyways, im rambling and i should be moving stuff.
good job man.

Wow! It's gone a lot darker since the last time I heard it. I definitely think you did the right thing in removing the dums you had before. I still think that glorious opening section should be at least twice as long as it is, but it's all good really.. Great work man.

Thanks guys.
The end I wrote seperate from the rest of the song, in sort of an introspective mood. I figured it'd be a great ending, because it encompasses happiness, tainted naievity, and that spiritual aspect you spoke of Phosha. (your excellent synopsis is appreciated, btw!)The transition into that grew from putting the end with the rest, I like how it's sort of this quick transitory realization of things.
I like music that makes you keep hitting rewind--a great section but not done too long
thanks again guys!

Good track Blastrid.
Like someone said above, sounds like Boards of Canada.

I just recently quit my job to plunge myself further into art and music. Maybe a bad move, but I know posative things will come out of it (allready have).

ha! thanks guys! didn't expect to see this thread resurrected.
www.stereopattern.com has gone live, and I'm slowly trying to learn CSS and some other web-design tricks.
yeah... admittedly it's hard for me to escape the profound influence BoC has on me. if you haven't heard it yet, go to my website and listen to Jump The Beat!
thanks again fellas. and i know what you mean Murex. I'm sort of doing the same thing.... I will probably be sending out an SP demo to some labels pretty soon!!!
