Re: can love be angry? [Re: JCoke]

Well not exactly. I am trying to find what Paul had to say about this

But basically he said this

Anger out of love is righteous. Anger out of self needs and gains is a sin.

Once again it all goes back to a man heart. His intent is what makes all the difference.

Let me give a more practical example.

Hum............thinking

OK if I was walking down the street and I seen some woman beating the shit out of her 5 year old child. I walk over and tell her. Hey lady that is not right please stop. She tells me to go fuck myself and continues to bet her kid but now the kid is bleeding quite badly. Do I turn the other cheek ? Certainly not!

I step in and grab the kids and save her but then the woman pulls a gun and is going to blow me away. Do I turn the other cheek ? No way. I reach out grab the gun barrel and take it from her and in the process I have to smash her face with my fist and beat her till she stops moving because she will not stop attacking me and insiting on putting the child in danger. I am very angry.

But what was my intent ? LOVE

I know this is a very strong set of circumstances but it takes a very strong set of circumstances to get this angry and lash out in anger. But it was all about Love. Not only for the child but for her as well. Had she killed that child. She would suffer in prison.

So Anger in fact can be part of Love.

OK I am still trying to find the teaching of Paul it is somewhere in Romans...

But as with many things hard to understand about God and Love

It has to do with the INTENT of a Man's heart

"Anger out of love is righteous."

dude that's hella general. love doesn't need a right or a wrong to exist, it just is.

love has no conditions. no judgements.

this is not to say to not experience other emotions as well, to deny them would be delusional.

think of love and anger as two sides of the same coin.

--------------------
Annnnnnd I had a light saber and my friend was there and I said "you look like an indian" and he said "you look like satan" and he found a stick and a rock and he named the rock ooga booga and he named the stick Stick and we both thought that was pretty funny. We got eaten alive by mosquitos but didn't notice til the next day. I stepped on some glass while wading in the swamp and cut my foot open, didn't bother me til the next day either....yeah it was a good time, ended the night by buying some liquor for minors and drinking nips and going to he diner and eating chicken fingers, and then I went home and went to bed.

Yes that small statement is very generalized. I am trying to find the teaching of Paul as he makes all of this very clear.

But it all boils down to INTENT of a man's heart.

Still looking...........grrrrrrrrr

this is almost it too sir "think of love and anger as two sides of the same coin."

The teaching of the Apostile Paul are the best next to the teachings of Jesus. But John is a close second.

Romans is a very very powerful Book. I very much wish that everyone would study it.

Paul rocks

that might be because of the questions being asked

The way I see it, Paul was a murderer in the right place and the right time. The life of Christ transformed him, but then the rest of Paul's life was a religious over kill to compensate his previous ill deeds. I imagine he was consumed with guilt all the way to his death.

There's nothing terribly special about Paul.

yea Romans is a good book (or letter?), it's alot about how we should treat others and stuff.

fn, i think once before you said something like "even if you don't believe in god, the bible is full of good wisdom anyone can learn from it." i'd have to agree.
