when am i gonna see an angry post here?
    #2007605 -

everyone is so zen and full of oriental patience over this forum (i rarely hang around here i know).
it kind of annoys me somehow.
it is natural to get mad sometimes.
isn't it?

It is natural to get mad and angry, I guess, but it never helps anything, especially in discussion about ideas..

To get angry and frustrated is basically worthless.
Peace.

to be zen, high, numb and happy all the time is 'the shit' then?
i'm not referring myself to discussions, i mean in general.
actually you've just hit my point.
my point is that getting frustrated and angry can lead one to changes and doings that wouldn't happen otherwise.
not that one should seek getting angry for free, you got me.

Well, getting caught up in emotion and acting without thinking may lead to changes and doings that wouldn't happen, but they, most of the time, aren't for the better..

The thing about getting caught up in negative emotions is that it blinds you. Acting out of anger, rage, etc., sort of cuts off awareness of what is actually happening.. hell, we've all seen the movies where someone traps the other guy by enraging him...

I mean, does it make me happy when someone kicks my dog? Not really. But getting pissed off about it is pointless. Life is too short to have to suffer needlessly (actually, there is no need to suffer at all)..
Peace.

There is a difference between not getting emotionally upset and getting walked over, man.

I mean, if the guy kicks my dog everyday, and the only way I can force him to abstain from doing so is to punch his face in, I'll be happy to do it.
Peace.

Yeah as fireworks_god said there is a diffrence between not getting emotionally upset and getting walked over. If someone try to mug you then you have to defend your self in anyway possable.

But this dosent mean your gona get angrey a person who can control there emotions and not get angrey is more likely to win a fight than some one who becomes angrey and agresive.

Anger is just a very old primal animal emotion not good at all.

It is natural, yes, but it is a choice we make. If you think through it, no matter what the reason is for me being mad, it always boils down to I made the choice to be mad when I could have let it go and continued to be happy.

anger, like other emotions, is a motivational tool - it lets you know something useful and gets you to do something about it. don't get angry, be angry, then you will see why you are so.
in general it's best to not hold on to that anger when you are actually responding to the stimulus.
you want an angry post? it's hard for me to get angry on the boards because it doesn't mean enough to me. people who ask questions that could easily be answered with some easy reasearch annoy me, but i don't get angry at that. it's not important enough.

wow, how welcome i feel with so much input in so little time!
actually, whats going on is that i gave my psychotherapist a chance and i have been through a 'spiritual fasting', if you know what i mean.
ok, i am referring to my non placebo sacrament. after some good years of 'spirituality', it wasn't easy but a gradual change was the key for me.
anyways, i have no problem on letting things go, the things that most annoy me but in the end of the day i feel like i have had a 'spiritual pounding' or something like that, even after being comprehensive and gentle to total strangers on random situations on the street, for example.
i don't know what is wrong with me.
on the other hand i have noticed some changes in me that were positive.
but i still feel very pounded. does anybody have any idea to help me out of this?
perhaps my therapist was a little wrong...

Anger is only good for showing you what you need to fix in your mind so you are no longer angry. If I get angry at constantly being asked dumb questions, in a more enlightened moment I will realize that I am addicted to not being asked dumb questions, that I choose the way that I respond to the world, and getting pissed off and emotionally worked up by being asked a question that I thought is dumb is really not worth it.

Well, everything is a test. We choose how we act every single second of our lives.. good times, bad times..

I know a lot of people lash out at people that are optimistic, but hell. There is no meaning of life, really, except maybe to evolve. One of the first steps to this said evolution is to realize that we have free will and to assume control of the mind that is suspossed to be ours to use.

Besides, life is much more enjoyable when you can keep a smile on your face and can look towards tomorrow, no matter what happened today. If we can't treasure our time here, than what the fuck is the point?
Peace.

If it were easy, everybody would be doing it.

What I have found to help is being mindful of everything that I can.  For example, when I sit down to eat a cheeseburger I think of the cow that died for my meal... and the cow that gave milk for the cheese that I am eating... and for all the people that worked getting the food to me... and...  Are my actions for the day worthy of their sacrifice?

no one outside ourselves can rule us inwardly. when we know this, we become free. anger is a choice...everybody gets angry, but the key is to observe your anger and see why you are so. rarely one makes good choices while angry. unfortunatly, ive been around much anger in my life...so, personally, i prefer good and happiness for everyone. whatever path of action you find that brings good and happiness to all, follow this way like the moon in the path of the stars...

Its natural to get angry, but its not natural to get so angry that you have to take it out on the peaceful guys at the Shroomery. Im sure Strumpling, Shroomism, fireworks god, Clever Name we all feel like punching walls sometimes, hell sometimes i feel like droping a nuclear bomb on things for fun but it doesent mean im going to write an angry post about it because frankly i dont think anyone here gives a rats ass about my personal problems........... well some might but i got a restraining order on those people.....Im watching you!!

Anyway, most of us heard of a little thing called MarijuANA.
