Psilocybin without shrooms

Been looking around for some other ways of producing psylocin/psylocybin without having to grow the shrooms. I found a tek that is somewhat complicated, but I'm wondering a few things.
Is it worth the effort? I think the site said 200g mycelium yields around 3 or 4 doses. Has anyone tried this?
Also, contamination seems much more likely using this method. Also, if it is possible to extract psilocin/psylocybin from mycelium, why isn't it very popular?

I think most of us have wandered down this road a couple of times. Not being a full fledged Biologist/Chemist/Mycologist I would say it is simply because growing mushrooms is easier the trying to find a way around it.

If I had access to the chemicals needed I might try it myself. But Im not big on methanol/ethyl components or the equipment necessary to cure them. Its not easy but its definately possible I guess.

If you ever happen to find an interesting tek or something let us know. Im sure we'd appreciate it, I know I would.
