Water drops on mycelia growth on my cakes!
    #3316726 - 11/03/04 09:44 PM (12 years, 1 month ago)

Ok, i hate posting questions as a newbie, but i searched the topics and i have read the teks EXTENSIVELY, and i only got one piece of advice that doesn't seem to be working. My cakes are colonizing nicely and the white hairs are spreading quite well across the inside of my jars. However, at the epicenter of each growth (ie, where i injected the spores) there is visible condensation. Like these little water drops are just chilling right there on the white stuff. Well, i looked in the teks about it being too moist, and it says to tape the lids to the rim of the lid, and unscrew it a little bit. Well i've done this and here it is a week later and nothing seems to have changed. Should i even be worried about this happening? and if so is there anyway to fix this? thanks to all you patient and understand gods of mycology!

Love and peace,
dbldown

It's probably myc piss. It's the waste product from mycelium. Don't worry about it if it's stays over colonized areas. If it becomes really really excessive, then you can turn the jar upside down and very gently tap the jar so the piss would drain to dry verm layers. From the sounds of it, it doesn't seem like a problem for you.

Good Luck
