New tune - Stare Into The Sun

Hey guys here's a link to my new tune that I've been working on the last week or so it's called Stare Into The Sun. Any of you who liked my old trippy electronic stuff should enjoy this. I think it'd be great to shroom to or just get stoned to! Let me know what you think..

nice delay on those vox.

the great thing about our immediatistic art sharing,
is we don't have to worry about copyrights if we aren't $elling.

btw, the movie Pi is based on the life of Dan Winter,
but the secret of the 216 name isn't Pi it's PHI.
and in the movie the only reference to Phi,
is when it is refered to as arcane "Theta".

is that you playing an acoustic?
almost sounds like a synth...

you should be making space-age music for those BBC documentaries.

heh I don't really know too much about the science of the film, just thought it was a cool sample :smile:

It is me playing the acoustic, took quite a few takes to get that right especially with the harmonies.. It was DI'd as opposed to mic'ed up as I wanted a cleaner sound, hopefully it works better like this..

I know what you mean about those documentaries. I do actually work for the BBC, though unfortunately not in any field related to music or audio engineering. More's the pity!

Nice job, the guitar turned out great!

That drumbeat at the end is from a classic Casio, am I right?
re-arranged in FFTT, right Jinx?

Is that drone in the beginning from your Triton? That is damn rich...

Yes the drone at the start is a bit of triton.. It was really cool actually, the Pi sample I found had some spooky music behind it which was miraculously in keywith the drone. Guess I lucked out there!

The drums at the end are probably a casio- I'm not sure, I used a sample that a guy called Bulala posted on these very boards a while back- you might remember. He had a load of samples of stuff like batman and macy gray. I just really like having the juxtaposition of tinny old sounds with fresh synth underneath!

Does it seem long enough to you guys? When I was writing it I got a bit sick of hearing those sounds over and over again and feel I might have cut it a bit short. Now I listen to it fresh I get completely lost in the textures and wish they went on longer. I know I'm going to listen to it on shrooms in about 3 weeks..
