I've never used an LE but I've got the regular Triton and it rocks! It took me ages to get to grips with however. If you want to hear some examples of music I've made on it, feel free to download from my site:

http://www.rob-k.srv2.com

The best tracks to check out for the triton are the Elysian Dream EP tracks, and Stare Into The Sun (at the top of the page)

These are by no means an expert handling of the Triton, but gives an idea. Also try checking out http://www.tritonhaven.com

Hope this helps!

my father has a triton extreme 88 key. I just want a good sounding piano, and malybe some moog sounds. The cx3 is what I do most my playing on.

what program are you recording through? If you can use VST instruments, I can highly reccoment steinberg's "The Grand," really amazing sounding grand piano..

yeah, Ive got a one in one to my laptop for music composition. I dont really record because of a lack of hardware on the computer end. I have a fostex 4-track that I sometimes use. Seriously, I just jam out on the keys, not really interested in making techno like music with it or anything. The kawai K1 that I use for finale entry could work.
I probably wont use any of the workstation features on the triton Le. I has nowhere near as much meamory as your regular Triton. I have an ESQ-1 kicking around here somewhere, and that took me forever to learn how to use that. After I learned how to do it all I never used it again. I pull it out every once in a while for the moog sound it has.
what did you play rob_k before you got the triton?

I was originally a pianist from the age of about 7, then took up flute at about 10, guitar at 14, drums at 15, bass guitar at 17.. wasn't really into synthy music till I got to about the age of 20 and I discovered drugs, then it all went a bit haywire..

If you just want it for moog and piano sounds there are probably options that are better value for money- the Triton's piano sounds are not beautiful. But there are many things that can be done with it that will make you fall in love. What sort of music are you hoping to make?

I have a CX3 for organ. I play funk, fusion jazz. looking to play anything that pays.

Looks like Im getting the 88 key triton Le. I found it for 1499 with ten percent off.

sweet dude, i play a korg cx-3 too, i fucking love the thing. i mostly play jazz/fusion/funk etc on it. i also play a fender rhodes and have a clavinet, but it is in a state of eh..disrepair...
im not a big fan of the triton, but i dont use any synth sounds really. i guess the piano is good on there, but im not sure about anything else other than synthy shit.
i really want a nord electro, fucking awesome rhodes, wurlizter, and organ, great clavinet, and good piano all under 20 pounds and for a 77 key just over $1500 i think...

the nord electro got decent reviews in the Nov 04 Keyboard magazine. It costs a little more than $1500 though, going at $2,100 for the 73 key. To be honest, the CX-3 isn't great for the price. The Triton has the same sound generation and has the exact same sounds as the CX-3. True, there are no drawbars on the Triton - therefore I have the CX-3 as well. The CX-3 is also cleaner sounding when I play rhythm funk since it has regular keys.
I am extremely happy with the Triton. I have the 88 key model so it has weighted keys. The action is really good.

Grateful Jim,

I own a Pro-X 88 Workstation. How has your action been holding up? I purchased mine new about two years ago, and I've found that the action is really loosening up. Also, how's your interface been? When working with a damper pedal, I've found that the display is slow to refresh, and in some cases data is lost on the redraw. What's been your experience?

We should swap some samples of eachother's work. I'd love to hear what you've done with it!

The action has loosened up a little. I have had it now for only a few weeks. I have really strong fingers, so when I play clavi parts I destroy the action. It won't be long till Im in your boat. My screen refresh is fine, have you updated your operating system?

Overall I am extremely happy with the Triton Le. I wouldn't use half of the features that the studio or the extreme have. Im not into the programming thing. If I want to record I will bust out the 4 track or cubase home studio.
