I like the new panel too. And I like how you can see where people have posted....

but:

-The green shrooms were way cooler than the stars
-Preview Reply is automatically checked
-There's no longer a link to containing forum on the bottom of the posts
-What happened to jumping to the first unread post?

But overall, it looks good.

What I don't like so far:

1. Unread threads aren't highlighted on the forum page.
2. IP's
3. Not automatically scrolling down to new posts for you.
4. Having to unclick preview everytime you want to make a post instead of just clicking submit.

The more I'm using the forums, the more I really hate the fact that you have to click the button to go to the last unread post.

thats definitely my biggest complaint, too.

that and having to unclick the preview reply.

i don't like the stars either... bring back the green shrooms!!!
i LOVE the idea that i can see where people post...
all in all i just wanted to say that this is the BEST message board i've ever seen!
i love being able to read the first sentance of a post without entering it navigation is easy (oh yeah... bring back the links to the general forum on the buttom!) and over all scheam and layout is GREAT!!!

so... good job whoever is behind this!

definitely. dont like having to scroll back to the top to refresh to the main index.


and it prolly sounds like we're unhappy but i do like the new look but i think there are some functional changes that occured that should be put back, IMO, like those stated thus far.

What was wrong with the layout before?  I admit I like the new smiley panel, but overall, I give these no changes a big thumbs down.

One more thing. Now the post icons, flames and other things (sticky, poll, etc) are all in the same column. It was better when there were two.

All those with complaints about having to uncheck the preview reply button.....

You can toggle that thru your preferences under my home.

Well after a couple of minutes with the changes I have to say that I really like them :thumbup:

I've already gotten used to whatever extra steps I've had to make to post or view threads.  I actually like the "jump to first unread post" button.  Sometimes my browser would get buggy when doing this automatically, and sometimes go way above or way beloe the new post.  This seems to be working well. 

I'd like to say the admins have done well :laugh:
