All Politicians are Flip Floppers in some shape or form. Not to mention every human being.
Accept it or not, we are all in a way a Flip Flopper, and it's just the way it's always been.

Bush said he would demand a U.N. Security Council vote on whether to sanction military action against Iraq. Later Bush announced he would not call for a vote

Bush said the "mission accomplished" banner was put up by the sailors. Bush later admits it was his advance team.

Bush was for fingerprinting and photographing Mexicans who enter the US. Bush after meeting with Pres. Fox, he's against it.

Point is, every person and every politician is a "flip flopper".

What exactly is it that you do when the data/information changes? Would it be better to have the ability to change your mind? Or is being pigheadedly stubborn really seen as a good thing? It's good to stand strong and hold your position on a situation.. but it's also good to know when to change positions. This whole "we're looking at Bush in a good light b/c he doesn't budge".. Well #1 its a bullshit claim, #2, even if true.. i wouldn't really see that as a strength in all cases.

I cant figure out why the kerry campaign doesnt paint bush as a flip flopper. Bush's illusion of consistency is the only thing he has going for him. If you take off his mask of deception then he has nothing to run on.

the thing is is that the bush campaign is deceptive, clever, and above all, very negative. Bush is a huge flip flopper who's broken almost every single campaign promise he made, right? right. so the best way for them to beat their opponent is to call him a flip flopper. Kerry served in vietnam and recieved purple hearts while bush's national guard service is questionable. So what they do is try to make Kerry look like he deserted his duties. Bush allowed 9/11 to happen, failing miserably in the security department so they say that Kerry will be weak on defence.

It's just part of living in this up is down down is up world that bush has created to avert attention from his own blatant flip flopping and utter failures. And the sad thing is is that bush is winning because of thise strategy. Your average yokel in south carolina can't remember past a month ago, let alone 4 years ago when bush made all those promises and since them has broken nearly every single one. So they believe the bush campaign when they paint Kerry as the king of all flip floppers. It's really quite sad.
