stage fright!

Okay so I have been invited to sing in my friend's band. My friend and I have worked on a few songs together and when he first heard my voice - he was really impressed and wanted to work together. SOOOO I've been writing lyrics and singing to their songs. We also run an open mic at a club by me every Tuesday night. He wants to do a show - I've never done that before. it was hard enough getting me to sing infront of him!!!

also - my lyrics are pretty personal. do i want people knowing about me and my life? i mean i also don't wanna pull shit out of my ass and sing that - but eh... i dunno.

just do it. you will be nervous before hand..and during too probably. But once you are into it it won't be so bad, you will probably be enjoying yourself, and in the end you will be happy...most likely.

I get incredibly nervous when doing anything in front of large amounts of people.  But after I do it, I feel very good about  myself. 

Just do it and have a great time while doing so.  :smile:

At this point in my life i can't speak in public. For some reason it just freaks me out and i stutter or mess up uncontrollably even when around peers. More power to you if you can. I bet you'll do great. Don't worry and when writing lyrics go with heart.

ok, definitely DONT get wasted your first time. and probably your first couple times playing in front of people will be intimidating, but you just have to go up there with confidence and give it your best shot. My knees were shaking like some shit the first time I played live, but its something you overcome quickly. Once you get over that initial nervous stage fright, and you do it a few times and see that things usually dont go as bad as you imagine, it gets easier.

Just let loose and feed off the energy around you.

Don't care what other people think about your performance, concentrate on expressing what you need to express.
