Stage Fright

YOu know that feeling when everyone is waiting for you to perform the goods and you don't know how to deal with it- you start sweating and you have reached a checkmate because everyone is waiting on you for you are the reason everyone is at that place or at least a part of the equation.

I want to hear from any1 on shroomery who has had an experience like this........... what happened and how did you deal with it

I personally got this when I had to speak about marijuana in front of my class- as excited as I was- I just got really nervous from some reason when I had to go up+ I have never really spoke before...I just started like getting jittery and couldn't keep my shit together... benzos probably saved my life there- when I put  a youtube video on I walked out the room popped a k-pin and became anxiety free , dropped my speech and just started asking questions and showing everyone why marijuana really should be legal for so many reasons and it is a racist policy that it is still illegal and criminalized federally- my speech was incredible after taking the bnzO........

but that is just an example of what I mean by stage fright.

Yeah I did a research paper on ecstasy for english composition, and we had to present it to the class. A few people laughed when I said my topic was on ecstasy, which made me 20x more nervous.

Speech class was pretty awful for me, I get really anxious during public speaking.

I had to do a presentation in my music class. I was quite nervous, until my friend came up with the idea of playing Megadeth for them all.

I think talking about drugs can be pretty scary- especially if you catch people giving you a vicious "druggie person" look or laughing at your topic.

but I am happy to say that everyone agreed with my presentation- even my professor gave me an 'A' on it- I think he liked that I showed the 'racist' aspect of politics cause our class was about diversity. 

but one fat mexican chick came to me after class and said "marijuana is no good" and I said to her that is very good for you lol- i was a bit fucked up.  also during my speech she said she doesn't want her kids smoking and I told her that's why you should want it legal and I explained in high school I can get marijuana much easier then alcohol.

Could be. But I am confident on the issue of marijuana- and I've never seen any legitimate reason it should stay illegal................... :shrug:      I'm afraid of public speaking in general.

I fucked up the plot to a whole play once because I omitted a whole page of dialogue.  :lol:  Acting wasn't for me (though now I think I'd rawk it)


The only stage fright I get now is at the urinals.  I can't pee next to people unless it's at a bar.  I don't know what it is.  I don't have a tiny pecker or anything, no disfigurations, I just can't for the life of me squeeze out a drop of piss if someone is standing next to me.

You are confident, but do you believe and have faith, or are you just confident because you think that what you think is a more likely and logical (and maybe more desirable) conclusion compared to what you believe the others to think

That's what they tried to teach us in speech class back in HS... they said have CONFIDENCE in your speech, even if your bullshitting it, they may not know the difference, so if your gonna say it, say it.

The key is to focus on that energy that you feel overwlelming you and will yourself into using that energy to your advantage, it sounds difficult but its possible, speaking from first hand experience. When this is accomplished you feel much more confidence and energy than you normally would.

I've heard of people say this before; it must be somewhat common.  The concept is just so foreign to me.  Care to go any deeper into the thought process behind it?

I walk up to the urinal and drop my fly.  I start the process of pushing the piss from bladder to peehole. 

Then the door opens and a guy walks up next to me and starts pissing.  The stream that was about to come out stops dead in its tracks and I can't pee.  The urge is there but the valve is clamped shut.  I try to gently let it flow out, then I try squeeze it out so hard I almost shit my pants.  No dice.  I pretend like I peed, shake, wash hands, leave bathroom, and return in 5 minutes.

If I'm halfway there, or even mid stream I'm gold, but god forbid someone approaches before the pee starts flowing I'm fucked.

It's like there some sort of anxiety there preventing me from doing it.  I don't FEEL anxious, in fact my comedic mind makes me giggle internally at the fact that we're two dude peeing at the same time, right next to each other.  There's just something that holds back the flow that I'll never understand.  Sometimes I'll just go right into a stall preemptively.    :lol: 

Same thing happens in the car if I'm on a long drive with someone and im trying to piss in a bottle.  My bladder will be ready to burst but my penile sphincter will not allow it!

The worst was at a concert I waited 20 min in line to piss.  It was one of those venues where the urinals are really tiny and line the entire wall of the bathroom.  I had to take the middle urinal.  I stood there for 2 minutes trying to squeeze it out with angry people waiting... nothing.  I waited so long just to fuck up taking a piss.  :lol:  I marched back up to the grassy knoll where everyone was rockin out, chugged my beer, tied my sweatshirt around my waist, and pissed under cover in my beer cup.  Been doing it ever since.  :wink:
