Pissing and stage fright

Anyone else suffer from this?

I do and I'm getting really fucking sick of it.  I don't know why it happens, I'm not embarrassed about my dick and will happily be nude in front of other people but for some reason I just can't fucking piss when I'm standing near somebody.  Even if I'm using a cubicle and the bathroom is pin-drop silent, I can't go.  It's something to do with other people being *aware* of whether I'm pissing or not, and I fully realise that this is retarded.

Cubicles are fine but pretending you are having a dump or snorting coke when all you want is a quick Johnny Cash, just sucks. 

The only exceptions to the subconcious 'rule' of who can be around me are my girlfriend and my best friends.  This has happened probably since I was about 18 or so but it has been getting progressively worse.  Sometimes it really ruins my night, when I'm at a busy nightclub I have to time my toilet visits really carefully instead of just enjoying myself.  It's worse when I'm DJ'ing.  Sometimes I leave to pretend I need to buy cigarettes when all I'm really doing is sneaking off to piss in a bush.  Pathetic, really.

The only cure I know is MDMA, but that's hardly a solution...

I'd appreciate no mocking but this is the interwebs after all so take your best shot :P

I can't pee if I'm at the urinals and someone else is there, and everything is really quiet.
Sometimes I'm just like, fuck it, and walk into a stall, after standing at a urinal unsuccessfully for a while.
For a couple years I had no problem pissing in front of others, because of practice I got on probation, but now I get stage fright too.
I just hate the feeling that I'm being watched, or they're listening for the sound of me peeing.

That being said, I can piss in front of my friends or my gf.

I took weekly drug screens for 2 years. I had a really really hard time at first. I would have to drink so much water that I couldn't hold it in. After I forced it out a few times it got better, but nothing like the problem you're having. Take some xanax when you gotta piss it will help...You may even go in your pants. Nah just kidding. I dont know.

That is funny I was thinking about starting a thread like this. I have the fright too friend. I can pee around people I know and trust but a complete stranger in the bathroom, no pee. I am comfortable with people looking at me nude but when I am up next to a urinal, it is not happening for me. Then thoughts start going through my head, do them know that I cannot pee, are they laughing inside because I cannot pee.

Huh, I've heard about this but never knew anyone who had it, or at least anyone who openly talked about it.

I just check it out on Wikipedia and it sounds somewhat difficult to treat, unfortunately.

hah, yeah i suffer from this too. If it's quiet and there's someone else in the bathroom, i normally have to pretend to be pooping lol. Especially if it's someone I know. I hate when I get up to go to the bathroom and someone's like "oh I'll go too." What can you say? (actually I'm normally pretty honest and will just be like "I'll wait")
I only have a problem starting though; once i'm mid pee i dont care if someone wants to watch..
I'm glad im not the only pee pussy.

I get stage fright too,maybe because I go to gay bars.....:grin: I always head for the stall.I will wait for one even if a urinal is available and there is only 1 person in there,I get weird looks sometimes,or someone else will be waiting also.sometimes there is a verbal acknwledgement and a bit of laughing about it,I am not embarrased to admit it in the clubs or concerts or wherever.Fuck'em!

P.S. after a few drinks the fright diminishes for me anyway.

You could always try staring really closely at the wall while you're taking a piss at home and even practice clearing your mind as you take a leak. Then do the same in the crowded bathroom at the club: zoom in on the wall, maybe even close your eyes, breathe deep, and forget where you are and what you're doing. Relax.
I don't know what will work really because I've never had that problem. By the time I get to the bathroom, I'm usually about to explode anyways. No amount of social pressure could do away with that feeling of 'OH SHIT I'M BURSTING AT THE FUCKING SEAMS!" :lol:

I usually really dont care who is around me while i pee.

They are there for the same reason, so i just let it fly.

Though i had a hard time the first few piss tests i had to do for probation.

Kinda annoying when they are actually looking at you.

I now have to drink massive amounts just so i have to pee so bad that i dont care, lol.

This fear of mine fluctuates. I can do it sometimes, sometimes I cant. Its quite wierd.

It's obviously a fear of not being able to love, in a respectable way. Or maybe the fear of the fear of not being able to love in a respectable way...this is probally it.

Our thoughts are really interconnected too - so it really has alot to do with the people there beside you too.

I'm with ya brotha.  Been fighting this shit all my life.  As much work I've done with metaprogramming my flaws, this subconscious demon still irks me.  I've improved somewhat and can pee in an enclosed area with people around.  But in urinals or ANYTIME alcohol is involved in unfamiliar territory, forget it.  This is an issue completely seperate from shamefullness.  I have absolutely no issues showing my pee-pee in front of others.  Hate to say it, but most sufferers have this condition their entire lives.  Good luck with it regardless.

Man you totally lost me on that one. How is urination and "fear of being able to love" related? Love and pee aren't thoughts that got together in my head, unless I'm thinking about some weird stuff I saw in porn.
