Last time I looked for cocobliss on Amazon it was a 10 pack of 650g bricks for $180 CAD.

I swear some drop-shipper is trying to make bank on shroom growers.

How many of you fellas is using only coir and no verm?

Coco bliss is pretty expensive. I pay half as much for my coir.

I have a bunch of eco earth bricks I need to use before I'll allow myself to try something different. Are the other brands that much better? I don't like eco earth because it's kind of trashy. I was making some tubs one time and ended up with a shard of glass under my fingernail.

Damn, some of yall pay out the ass for coir. Perks of living in a big weed area are grow shops every fuckin 10 feet. I got a 5kg block of the Roots Organics coir for under 20 bucks, been very pleased with it. Great texture and virtually no bullshit mixed in.

I know I'm about to be called an elitist, but...

I use Canna coir.  Think I paid $20 for 2 of the 1800g packs.  I love the stuff, no twigs, glass, labels, dirty rubbers, salt chunks, etc.  Always has been consistent and clean for me, and well worth the cost.  I thank/blame Stipe lol.

P.S.  That was a couple of years ago when I bought it and I bought a shitload.

Looks more like bruising to me.  You seemed to have skipped class on the day we covered surface conditions.  Better mist that up sparkly and get your settings right.  Might have to punish and rescue it at this point

how did you dry them

I got the cheapest food dehydrator available at walmart. What's the risk here, just drying too hot? There's no temperature control on this thing, but sticking a meat thermometer in there it appears to be running about 140f.

I have a cheap Walmart dehydrator. That temp is fine and will not degrade actives.

I would let it go a little longer but it won't hurt to shake it. I like to let them get to about 10% colonization then shake, then again around 80%. The second shake helps me see if there's any hidden contamination by how it recovers and moisture build up.

That might be bacterial, although it is hard to tell from the lighting. Can you take better pictures? If it is bacterial it may or may not recover well after shaking. If it is healthy a shake won't hurt, but I usually wait until 25-33% colonization.

By moisture buildup, do you mean like sweaty sides for healthy and working myc and bottom moisture for bacterial?

Edit:
This is 3 days after shake n break(twas around 50%), inoculated 10/19
