Honestly not at all.  I’ve been doing it a long time, and it feels far more natural than buying a cut of meat wrapped in styrofoam and plastic.  That stuff gives me the heebie jeebies.

There’s a certain stage in the process where it turns from a deer to cuts of meat that you recognize.  That’s usually when I start thinking about what I’m going to be making with each cut as I wrap them.  The process goes further when you start making your own sausage.

I dunno, I think I’m just more grateful when I eat thanks to being a part of the whole process.

3rd in is my personal fave, such character.

I, more often than strictly cuttin chunks, will carve out the inner- and greatly thin the membrane- before using a craft knife, clay rasp tool or back of a spoon or w/e to do the design. It's worth a shot and can vary transparency etc for greater effect. But I don't have pics handy of my all time favourites like one of Kodos saying "EARTH CAPITAL" and a really lethal reaper I done once.
