do you find separating the deer to be offputting or too liminal at first? I am sure one gets used to it, but I saw a video of a turtle being separated and i lost my lunch.

Honestly not at all.  I’ve been doing it a long time, and it feels far more natural than buying a cut of meat wrapped in styrofoam and plastic.  That stuff gives me the heebie jeebies.

There’s a certain stage in the process where it turns from a deer to cuts of meat that you recognize.  That’s usually when I start thinking about what I’m going to be making with each cut as I wrap them.  The process goes further when you start making your own sausage.

I dunno, I think I’m just more grateful when I eat thanks to being a part of the whole process.

That said the turtle stuff would horrify me too.  I like turtles.

I wholeheartedly agree on the thievery theme. Never lock my front door, half of the time we don't lock the van when we're out, I just don't want to waste energy on worrying about dumb stuff that's not even alive. Plus apart from a heap of tools I don't own really valuable stuff anyway.

When my bike got stolen a few years back, I did pay for ensurance on the new bike, though. Use that thing a lot...

On the other hand I left it unlocked, so was totally on me.

Was going for Jack Skellington

Fuck yeah they're all some good pups them Kloakk!

3rd in is my personal fave, such character.

I, more often than strictly cuttin chunks, will carve out the inner- and greatly thin the membrane- before using a craft knife, clay rasp tool or back of a spoon or w/e to do the design. It's worth a shot and can vary transparency etc for greater effect. But I don't have pics handy of my all time favourites like one of Kodos saying "EARTH CAPITAL" and a really lethal reaper I done once.

I can't post the full set so as not to doxx my livingroom
:feelsparanoidman:

but they're some from 2024 for Beetlejuice Beetlejuice hype.

Beautiful ones Lithop :bow2:

We'll see if this is something that will evolve to a new obsession or not, but yes I've seen some very cool designs and techniques out there so

Life got busy but I'm doing good. I kept glancing at my grows for months and doing anything with them felt like an insurmountable task. My pans went green so I will have to start over with those. I don't think my x7x+ jars are long for this world either, but oh well.
