Welcome to the Shroomery!:smile::mushroom2:

Most the tubs look normal except the one with the orange corners. That's a little sus

I'm also a little suspicious of the top right corner of the first photo, that one spot looks white like trich does before it goes green. But that also may just be lighting. If you can get a close up picture of that stop I can verify if it is or isn't.

Thanks for sharing what you've got growing!

Thanks for the updated photos. My hopes are not high for either of these tubs. The variation in color of mycelium leads me to believe there's some mold growing amongst the mycelium:sad:

1st pic is hard to tell could be mold though thinking bacteria n metabolites from pic 1 pic 4 n pic 5

I'm pretty sure slightly bacterial n not mold though ur surface conditions are matted and looks possibly like it's had water dripping heavily

The ones with yellowing on the corners looks like mycelium stressing out due to excessive drying.

Other ones are sus as noted above.

Helloooo how does this Zap Texolo myc look? It's been sitting in this plates (60mm) for 14 days, I'm struggling to find a reference of a plate.
Anyone has the link to the post of visual references of various species and varieties on plates?

At 2 (second picture) you can see something, but through the light it doesn't make shadows.
I thought the thing you see might be the myc knotting, but I don't know it's my first time with Zap!

Those look fine. Except for that horned ant head in the middle of the right side jar.

Quit trippin' on grains drying out and inoculate already.

Looks fine to me! Usually after sterilization the jars looks wet, but the grains will absorb the moisture in the next days.

To be extra sure I hydrated correctly I weight the grains dry, then I weight them after they have been drying on fly screens.

Then I calculate the percentage of hydration I got on them, with the goal of it being 70-75%.

I do that by multiplying the dry weight of the grains (I use rye berries, every grain has it's own correct percentage) by 1.75, which gives me the total weight I am aiming for.

For example, I weight 1000g of dry drye, I cook it, strain, leave to dry the outside on the flyscreen, then weight it, and the maximum hydration I want is 75%, so:

1000g dry weight x 1.75 = 1750 hydrated grain

That's the goal, but for me it's okay if it's on the dryer side, but won't take it wetter.

Were they squishy / did they go a bit long before harvest?

The outsides look so nice. For me, by the time the inside looks like that, the rest of the fruit body is similarly nasty. IDK if I've ever seen it in an orderly ring like that.

guess imma learn some stuff here, curious to see what people say about this

Normal.  I've had many that look like this before. The outside weren't squishy at all. They dried perfect.stored perfectly and I tripped great on them  a year later.  No  issues at all.

I honestly don't know what it is. Just looks like bruising on the inside or some  other coloration.

But I don't think it's indicative of rotting..  I wouldnt worry about it.:hatsoff:

good to know! Thanks mate

I discarded the ones that looked like this but no biggie... it was only a handful and tubs have provided more than enough.

But notes taken and its good to know for future harvests.

A light shake to distribute the LC immediately after inoculation is generally accepted as a good practice

My package came recently, and my media bottle is too tall to stand update in my PC let alone on top of a base. I'm wondering if I can lean the bottle against one of the side walls while PC? or will it melt the cap?

OK. I shake after I inoculate. Then LITFA for a week or two. Moisture DOES NOT cause bacteria. It just spreads it quicker.

Is this sweating too much? Temp swings from 67 to 76 sometimes.
And the grain was a bit wet, it had very little condensation pre noc.
I couldn't find any reference on threads that show clean spawn so if some experienced eye could tell, please do. I'm guessing I could send them to bulk with this colonization, just don't wanna waste it if this is bad.

Since it's all collecting in the top of the jars it def just looks like it's condensation from the big temp swings
