I’m going to let this one ride. I have 2 more shoeboxes not far behind. I was thinking I’d case one with peat/ vermiculite and peel the other, you know, for science.

Glad a took the time to read all the posts! Although I haven't posted in here yet, I too have a monotub of zinnii going. My first thought when I looked at it this morning was  "its overlayed" to case or not to case? To fork or not to fork? Figured id check here to see how everything was going for yall. Guess ill leave it for now. May do up a casing if it doesn't start doing something soon.

It has completely ate through the coir casing and seems to be overlaying again. I added a casing of course vermiculite on half of one of my tubs. I am seeing blue and brown mycelium in one tub as well.
I'm not looking these are talking this long to fruit. If my semperviva bins fruit before this does I'm not going to go any further with this isolated culture but I will let it ride to see how shit goes.
I will try MS to see if I can get it to fruit any faster.

I feel ya, if I diden’t have 4 other projects going i’d be getting impatient. I cased tub #2 a couple days ago with peat/ vermiculite. My original tub has that same coloration you described. If It doesn’t pin soon I’ll try giving it a good soaking.

That makes me feel better about the colors! I know some species it's normal for so I didn't immediately toss it out. Maybe my temps are too cold, but other tubs are pinning and growing like mad.
