You have the right to demand anesthesia. There's no fucking way I would let them do that without it. They wanted to do this gnarly ass procedure on my face without anesthesia and I just said thanks but no thanks and went elsewhere. They literally had to peel half my face off. When I told the surgeon who did it that the guys before wanted to do it without anesthesia he was appalled . He didn't even believe me.  He was like that's barbaric.

Anyway yeah you definitely want anesthesia.  Unless you really want to come away from this with some medical trauma. The psychological fallout of seeing your own guts cannot be understated.  Just trust me on that one


Did your last doctor say that he has such great sights to show you first?

I had a right inguinal hernia operation in my twenties. Seriously wasn't a big deal. It was my first time under anesthetic so I was a bit nervous. But I counted backwards from 100 to 99 and woke up a second later asking if they had started yet. I felt fine that day.

I also felt fine the next day or two until I didn't. I thought I was good and pushed it a little too hard the first and second day because I felt fine. Don't be me. Like Master Beef said, let yourself be pampered for a couple of days and you will be good. But if you try to do too much too soon you only delay the whole recovery time.

Of course, this was back when the barber-surgeon cut by candle light, so I assume that things are probably even better now.

anesthesia is fun, I got Eifel towered by the doctors last fall it was my first time being under. Really cool sensation, was definitely aware as soon as they put it in me like 'oooooh I'm about to get reaaaaally high" and then I faded out, woke up, everything was chill :cool:

I wonder if I wouldn't have an easier time gettin' a crown if I was fucked up on cubes.  Too much and my sense of time just kinda goes bye-bye.  Though, my dentist might get a little testy if I show up to my appointment on the verge of tripping absolute balls.

Course, it risks me getting bored, going full ADHD mode, and wandering off mid-procedure, lol.

LMAO this reminds me of the time I got my wisdom teeth removed. The put my i.v in and the doctor said "its just a tube don't worry'

I said "it's all good if i look at it I'll pass out" and then i was out, lmfao it happened so quick. Next thing i knew i was in a different room and my girlfriend had said I already paid. I handed her my card when they asked for payment... kinda crazy they would take money from a 3/4 sedated person but that's besides the point.


I hate all things surgery, needles, and knives,,, but honestly with todays technology and modern practices, I think the worst part is the healing process, not even the actual surgery.

Like Rev said though give yourself some time, allow yourself to be pampered. Definitely get it taken care of. Health over money. Money comes and goes, but once health goes, its gone.

i was on shrooms during the most traumatic experience of my life and i think that did a lot of psychic damage and kinda made mushrooms this painful thing for me forever.

Was perfect for a small transformation from being rehabilitated from pain to painless and when that infected tooth came out I was in tears from joy mannn it was awesome n would do it again if I went back in time :lol:

I wouldn't actually do it, but man, the temptation is there.  I fuckin HATE dental shit.  I take good care of my teeth, now, but I didn't when I was younger and absolutely paid the price.

Floss and get an electric toothbrush w/ a timer.  That has literally saved my teeth.  Finally found some new triple-line flossers a while back and my GOD, the difference is like night and day.  They cleave thru the crap between my teeth like fucking Excalibur.

Sonicare, water pick, and tongue scraper for me. Just like you i was dumb about it when i was younger. Now i throw a party when i don't have a cavity after going to the dentist. Even thought i take good care of my death i dread the dentist saying i have one.

Same boat here, lots of cavities until I switched to a Sonicare and a long handled floss pick.  Last time I went in it was 3 years after my previous visit, no cavities.  Hard to be happy about that though, I had to put my cat down the next day.

I had so many amalgam fillings I was consuming around 40mg of mercury annually.  I have no doubt that was a main contributing factor in my development of a mental disability.

Reminds me of the time I took 6 g of mushroom chocolate and tried to paint a room.
Now did the room get painted?
Sure it did.
Was it harrowing? Ya a bit.

It felt like I was trying hard to do a good job and I did. But that was somewhat subduing the mushrooms. As soon as I was done. I was gone. All the effort to keep myself sober had been spent and then the mushrooms overwhelmed me. Turned into a good time afterwards.

Nothing like not knowing how you truly feel cause your tripping balls on 6g of strong ass shrooms and in actual shock. Pouring sweat, 94f body temp, 77/55bp, trying to talk to people you don't know, shining lights on your eyes asking questions you got a hard time answering sober, bleeding everywhere, really puts a dark side to tripping for a long time if not forever. I still haven't tripped and it's been a couple years since then. I'd say they may have cause some permanent mental shit for me.
