I just wanted to step in here and say his second Shake definitely shouldn't be his last shake.(and it's okay if you feel like doing it even more times along the way in between.)  Just don't go overboard. But as long as your jar is healthy it's not going to matter too much.

Anyways

Lots of us around here practice doing a final break and Shake
usually a couple days before we actually spawn the thing.

We like to break it up one more time nice and good and then see how quickly it recovers or if it decides to reveal  some contams we maybe overlooked or couldnt see..

If the recover time is quick in the myc starts growing back without any issues or revealing contams. then we feel super confident about spawning it to bulk..

This is just a little trick for some reassurance and going into your grow without having to worry as much.

You can take a room temp 7mm rod and stick the end into your torch flame and it heats to the point of melting without cracking or exploding. You could probably even wrap boro plates in foil and sterilize them in your oven.

Not to derail here, but i'm in the process of rescuing my AIO bag and its got some short chonkers. like little thumbs of PE. I noticed that when i was cutting the base of the mushroom to get rid of the substrate attached,,, there was no blueing. My JMF turned damn near black when i put it through the dehumidifier. But the PEs still look regular fleshy colored. some blueing between the cap and stip but nothing down the center. I cut one all the way in half and only a slight bit of blue where the stipe meets the cap.

Are these even worth it? or will i just be eating non-fun dried mushrooms??

Mushroom by light is on the right hand side of the 2nd pic. This was the biggest so far. Its an AIO rescue so I wasn't expecting much, but i was actually impressed by how small they were when they started to stop growing.

It has come to my attention that PE is a very water hungry variation, I believe it is where the Floting Lotus Tek originated, because the sub shrinks so much due to its water consumption needs

I did this to overcompensate the previous s2b where I under field capicitied it
