Everything is still expensive, most directly because of the Iran situation. More broadly because the 2008 financial crisis was never fully fixed. And then we printed off a stupid amount of money during COVID so the bond market is breaking, most starkly in Japan who is our chief financial ally. But basically every western country is seeing their bond markets get out of hand. Which if both of those never occurred we probably could have afforded all the social programs. The Fed just raised rates 25 basis points, but in reality they needed to raise it about 100 basis points to really address inflation. So next quarter look to them to increase 50-75 basis points. They probably would have done a 50 basis point increase if Trump hadn't threatened to stop trading with every country we have a trade deficit with.

Also, he really hasn't deported that many people. He's not on pace to out deport Obama. The only thing Trump has been effective in is stopping the flow of people getting here.
