Yes, but you need a filter for your lid(s).


I use those twist lid salsa jars and twist it so it's almost completely closed.

I think they work well for this, it might depend on the lid but if you twist it pretty far it allows a little air out for ge and for the pc. I don't think any contams can get through it.

Same principle as the ziplock twist jars.

I save all my salsa jars for mycology, and I have salsa a lot, so I've collected quite a few of them.

I'm running unmodified 1piece lids on my CW3 cakes with no issues rn πŸ‘€ also used LI and no top layer.

Why did my B+ mushrooms come out small? They started tearing the veil around 10cm (4 inch) height. They were in a coco coir bag with enough misting and an I did a wide cut under the filter patch for fae. Only thing that might be off is that I used 1kg coco coir sub to 1 kg of millet spawn.

I thought they will grow for much longer and higher.

I did a taste test yesterday of some edibles, but I did not feel much. Sure, I was using some subpar stuff as I test out this new recipe, but having eaten 4gs worth should have been more than that.

There are other variables, but I would like to know if personal tolerance is the likeliest culprit. I had done a casual 2.5g over the weekend, and ate 5g wet of another fruit before yesterday.


I remember when i first ever had mushrooms years ago, the guy who bought them and who i tripped with said to wait like 2 weeks or 2 months (i dont remember) before having more

Since then, very recently, i have taken doses back to back days, just to see the effects of my tolerance and when i took the second dose on the second day it was a smaller dose, and to my surprise it still kicked my ass(in a good way)

Granted I do specialize in growing PE(very potent stuff) so that is probably a huge factor. Depending on the genetics you have, some less potent stuff seems to be more tolerable

Personally I believe tolerance has to do with (active compounds/your body weight). That being said, tolerance is a strictly subjective phenomena, so it really depends on your mindset.

Even though i have the money to buy mason jars, i have 3_27gallon totes full of (salsa/sauce/misc.) Jars that I saved for mycology purposes...its like free containers bru, and yeah, slightly unscrewing the lids a bit works perfectly. I like modifying the lids with a filter patch and sometimes a self healing injection port for LC

Might not be enough water in the substrate, it does look kinda dry to me, but you got fruits so, well done, and welcome to the shroomery

Spore print on cardstock paper, left for ~12-15 hours to drop spores (set the print up, ate dinner.and went to bed) woke up the next morning and lifted the cap to let the paper dry while i was at work. Then used this fixative spray.

DO NOT SPRAY IN YOUR HOUSE its no different than spray paint. The fumes are just as bad. I had to air out my apartment so my neighbors couldnt smell it. Might as well spray painted a mural.

I placed the spore prints in a tall amazon box with a black garbage bag as a liner. And sprayed lightly from about 3 feet away to let the fixative settle upon the print and not to blow it away. I did about 4-5 sprays. With 5-10 minutes in between to let it dry. With each spray getting a little longer and heavier.

I know I can feel the fixative on the paper, I touched a little corner of the print to see if it would smudge, but I did not attempt to big smudge it to see if it was entirely smudge proof. I didnt want to test it on my first ever print. The memory was worth more than the test.


Here is the result <3

Would mildly bacterial spawn cause the cracking on these mushrooms, or is there another cause?

That mycelium looks super healthy,  i dont think its contam, its probably just a mutation
