Everytime I attempt to pour plates I get crazy condensation build up on the lid. After the agar gels-up I flip them upside down to try to get rid of it (works with pre-bought plates), but then I just get whole ass drops of water in them. Anyone got tips on preventing such condensation build up?

That's normal, when I used a SAB I would leave the plates unwrapped inside my SAB(with armhole covers closed) for a couple of days for the condensation to clear up, stack them to use the heat from the agar to clear the condensation on the plate below.

With the FFU I let them sit unwrapped in the flow until it's gone.

Thanks Kloakk, I'll have to try this. Ive been debating on investing in a LFH, currently in a SAB. And everytime I pour plates it get mad water. Im going to try Milkboy's PDA recipe and just.leave them unsealed in the SAB for a few days.

Ill be sure to knock them over 🤗

Happy to help, just for the record, my back and me really like the FFU, that said I have a 100% clean streak of unused plates using a SAB.

Knocking plates over is so much worse with a FFU or LFH, just saying :uhoh:

:whathesaid:

I store my plates stacked in tubs, after two weeks not even the top plate which often have heavy condensation is cleared up so pouring plates a couple of weeks before you need to use them is great.

You want to know the worst part? I don't store my stuff the way I do because I'm afraid of contamination, I store it like that because it makes me feel good inside when I look at it

Oh snap an actual confession, man I have 2 posts today that is actually on topic

Man, Kloakk. If I were a woman, I’d think you’re the 'perfect man,' but since I’m a guy—I know that’s not true.

Without a doubt, you’re an exemplary dude in what you do and how you do it—I’ll keep tipping my hat to you for that. :hatsoff:

And me? I just have to adapt to my circumstances. This isn’t my house, nor will I be here for the rest of my life—otherwise I’d obviously set things up better. But I also want to keep the lightness of being a traveler, and this pit stop I’m taking this year is the longest one I’ve had in the last decade.

Next year I’ll probably grab my old backpack at some point and hit the road again (which I miss), leaving cultivation behind until the following year (unless I figure out a way to grow on the go by fruiting pucks or something). I usually only spend 1 or 2 months a year here anyway.

Damn, everything has its price.

Hugs

Me and the lil lady tripped in the woods around my property yesterday. It was fun. We started out at my little waterfall. One of our favorite spots to hangout. Then,  she found some snazzing mushrooms further down stream that I've never seen growing on my land. I recognize the chicken of the woods. Man, were we excited when she found those!

The other two, I'm not sure about. We thought the dark one was pretty cool. The orange one, I suspect is a chanterelle.

It was a good day. Toward to end of the trip I started feeling kinda rough. We didn't eat anything before dosing. Drank a smoothie halfway through and sipped tea with honey. Next time we'll eat a small breakfast beforehand. It was a good day, all in all.

Noted! this is all good to know. I think i had mine for about a week sitting upside down but i think that was also a cause of pooling. I'll just need to keep trying until I get them right.

I hear you on the back pain too !! i have nerve damage from sitting in an office chair for so long. so being able to stand up and not have to hunch in a SAB sounds wonderful every time i think about it.

So you let them sit in the SAB for a few day unwrapped and right side up and then wrap and store in your tubs. or get a FFU/LFH and let it sit in the flow until cool with no condensation.

The reasons to get one are accumulating:takingnotes:

And the feeling is mutual man, believe it or not I don't have roots anywhere, but I do bury deep roots with people and is the reason we got a house, for the wife and the kids. I don't think I lived more then 3 years at the same place before we bought this house.

Yeah having them sit upside down never helped me, pooling and having to dump it out before using them never sat right with me even though I know some do it all the time without problems.

I still sit in front of my FFU, but I'm not hunching and the freedom to move really helped a lot, with my SAB I always felt some relief when I was done with a session, with my FFU I'm often thinking to myself, was that all, I was sure I had a lot more work to do.

Yes usually I let them sit for 2 days and they would be good to wrap, but I have forgotten them for a week and they were fine and still no contaminations, but like I said, armhole covers is key.

With the FFU it takes a lot of time to clear up the top plates, so I let them sit in the flow until I need to wrap them before going to bed, so some of the plates will have some condensation when I wrap them, I just put them at the bottom of the stacks and by the time I use them it's all cleared up.

The only reason I needed to get my FFU was knowing that I'll be doing this for at least 3 more years, so if you know and have the money, then why not :awesomenod:

Thank you for the kind words, my wife is pretty cool, and she doesn't even trip more then once a year, maybe. That said, except for this room, she got to decide every other room and demands pioppinos
