bout to dunk some cakes, a few have this yellow/orangeish substance that's formed on the outside layer, is this anything to worry about?

Hi all, this is my first post! Thanks to this guide I had some success back in 2021, with spores and Rice and the syringe method, also I made some agar plates with Dry Malt Extract and sugar. I've experimented with different types of substrates which sadly has gotten me nowhere. So I'm back to this guide, hope to have success again...

First time trying PF Tek β€” totally new in fact. Two weeks now, the mycelium started to grow and is reaching the bottom. It's so amazing, I can stare at it every day for hours instead of Netflix.
However, since I'm using jars that are available, the neck would be a problem to get the cake out later. :confused:
Any suggestions? Thank you!:wink:

You can add a casing of Coir on the top of the jar then place in a Water tub or spawn to bulk at a 1:3 ratio into Shoeboxs

Great work!:smile::mushroom2: I like staring at my spawn too:hehehe:

If you go the watertub route make sure there's only 6-8 in from the top of the cakes, otherwise the humidity will get trapped at the top of the tub and it'll make mushroom formation more difficult
