PF Tek Yields
    #577049 - 03/12/02 03:29 PM (21 years, 18 days ago)

Okay, I'm about to start growing the Puerto Rican strain of P. cubenis. I will be using the famous PF Tek growing guide to accomplish this. I am wondering, on average, with any strain of P. cubenis, what the average yields are for the PF Tek guide. I'm talking grams, ounces, whatever.
Thanks for your help.

It depends on how many cakes your using exc...
Puerto ricans aren't the easiest or best yeilding strain either.
I would suggest the Thai ks or Mazatapec strain for a first go.

I know someone who had a relative who used the PF TEK a long time ago and this is what they said...

" The PF TEK was used with both PF spores and  Mazatec spores and there plenty of fruit to go around. The thing that his/her relatives did was used straws in the cakes and used veggie miracle grow... this helped out a lot too..."

4 grams per cake (dry) is what you should expect.
if theyre puerto rican then theyre gonna be potent and aggressive; theyre very stubborn and do what they want to.
if this is your first attempt i wouldnt recommend them as theyre pretty slow fruiters and are hard to control; you could try them as cakes but it will be 10+ days to fruit them (longer in my experiences- and thats not including birth to pinning which was well over 1 week) whereas thailand or maztecs cycle from pin to veil breaking in about 3-4 days
double post in different threads! hah!

Most of us use 1/2 pint jars for the PF/MMGG teks.

well 1/2 pint jars hold about 100-125ml substrate so gram per gram were getting very similar yields.
i also would like to know what a flyboy american is.

There are 4- 1/2 pints in a quart US.

ONE quart IMP = 1.200935 quart US.

An Imperial quart is smaller than a US quart.

Go here and do the math for 1/2 pints Assuming Incognito is from England or where ever in the world they use the Imperial unit of measure. http://www.inetone.net/mshapiro/convert.html

I'm a first-timer, and so far, on my first 5 cakes
I have yielded over 1/2 oz. dried! One of them
has flushed 3 times. The others are on their
second flushes. I'm predicting at least 2 oz. from
these.

my friend feels pretty jealous after reading the other replies. he pulled the PF-tek with PF spores on 5 cakes and yielded maybe 1/4 oz. ttl. he thinks it may be due to the "degenerated" spore race considering everything went smooth throughout the process. he thinks he will try another strain next time.

Thanks for all the help. From what I gathered from ya'll, I'm going to grow the Mazapatec strain and with the PF Tek guide, I'll get 6 grams per 8 oz jar and with 10 jars, that is 60 grams per syringe. Thanks!
