If your talking about agar, then the sandwhich method is a way to clean up a contaminated agar plate by pouring more agar on top of it, then the mycelium eats its way up to the new agar surface, then you can take a clean sample

The trench method is another way to clean contam by cutting a trench between the contaminated agar and uncolonized agar, and the mycelium will form a bridge across the trench leaving the contam behind

It is textbook, and multiple. Symptoms: bare glossy grains, excessive condensation, spiky erratic growth, these are all factors that make less difference in  isolation but when considered together are tell-tale, to anyone that has grown more than a few failed grows.

If you do agar, it is possible to clean the culture up. Make a trench plate, 1 grain and scrape some mycelium off, add it to the plate. I've read somewhere else in the form that something a lot of people seem to do with contaminated grains or spent substrates is throw them outside in a garden bed or even just a hole in the ground, if that's what I decide to do, would you still recommend mixing cior with it or should I just throw it all to forget about it?


Yep, throw it outside and throw a casing of coir and some water on it like this




I think that's what I'll do. I not really too invested in that bag but it would be nice to get something out of it. I planned and am in the middle of my first grow using grain jars I learned how to make taking in as much as I could from here I'm alot more confident that they will be successful

Depends, if you're using a specific tek like Beefs beefy tub or Pasty's ez dial tub you can post on those specific threads, or if you're looking for general feedback, here is perfect.

If it is just a big rounded lump with no stem/cap it's a giant puffball. Looks like the perfect stage to eat. Always be careful eating wild mushrooms. ID is step one of course but you have to consider the environment, stage of life, infestation status, and any possible chemical accumulation.

If it is yellow at all inside don't eat it. Yellow means spores and when they go to spore they cause mild to severe gastrointestinal distress.

Giant puffballs are delicious like cotton candy flavored tofu but with better texture.

I am 99.5% sure even without a pic of the underside.

You could always start your own thread.

Label it what you want.. ask for the help you need.

Then you may ger lots of responses.. people answering your questions specifically..

and you don't have to worry about whether you're bogging up somebody else's thread. by taking it over and having people answer tons of questions about a setup that may have already been answered in the past.

That you're looking for in real time.

So yeah in this case. 
This Thread is great if you got a couple questions you just want answered real quick. But if you want some real help with your setup that is ongoing.  Without annoying anyone. 

starting your own thread would also be a great option.

Anyone know how to reach out for technical support on here? Been having a serious issue with uploading pictures for several months now on here. Would like to get it fixed before I just make a new account.

Kinda.

It was kind of a big
Ordeal. Where I accidentally posted a picture that was inappropriate. 

Trying to share a day in my life.  The trials and tribs rasing a  child with special needs. 

I had went in and edited my pictures to make sure my son was kept safe and nothing was inappropriate.. however while using my phone to make the post I accidentally chose the unedited picture.

I had realized what happened. About a minute and a half later and tried to remove it.  But was was already permanently banned.

It was a sucky situation. People were calling out my character..

even though most people know me around here..and they  knew that what was happening, wasn't what it seemed to be.

Tdlr. The mod that banned  me was just doing his due diligence to protect the website and it's cardinal rules. 

I went through the process I explained to you above in order to let the administrators know I wanted to make an appeal.

After submitting a request. 

The boss man kindly contacted me.  and let me explain my situation. After hearing my story. And me leading him to reading all my positive ratings from all the great members here. Notm nomination etc. As a way of understanding my true Character. 

He overturned the ban. And asked me to be extra extra careful in the future.

Hey pheno. This might be a dumb question. Do you have a supporter account? If not.  Could you possibly just be out of space for posting pictures?


I feel even dumber as I typed this out cuz I feel like if that's the case.. then it tells you you've exceeded your limit or something. But i just wanted to cover all bases.
