Been a good minute since I checked in with Mastodon. Never got all the way into their discog but do remember fucking with this song. I could take it or leave it until 1:14 and then it turns into this thing that's like... prog with a whisper of the stonergaze band they could be if they just never turned the octaver pedal off.



One day I'll leave mushcult and post in the band tees thread :shrug:

mastodon is sick. I saw them with primus candyflipping my dick off, like in 2018 i think.
they were better than the main act that night even though I am a big Les fan and then we ended up shooting off fireworks..
i think it's show yourself and some other song off their older album Emperor of Sand, great album

There's an easter egg where if you have treatment resistant depression and obtain a 10th roll of printer filament, some harry potter shit happens and the Sorting Beanie tells you what your new favorite 10/8 riff is. This whole thing is insane but 1:21 does some real special wigglin.

I saw Mastodon last year I think. With lamb of God.  They were pretty good. 


I also saw them back in 2005 or 6 I think with Slayer and Killswitch engage. Slayer was the headliner.

It was the Reign in  Blood tour.  Not for the album.  just happened to be the tour they wanted to do that year. They performed all of Reign in Blood and would have Blood rain on them.

Mastodon and kill switch were opening for them and I believe we're just kind of getting started in their careers.

That's sho rocked as well

If there was ever a Time a shroomery retreat/convention was really needed.. it's now.  Lots of pain in here lately.


I was staying at a hotel in New Orleans one time. We got there to check in and realized they were walking us around certain areas and a weird way.

When I got to the desk they told us there was a swingers convention in town and they rented out half of the hotel.

So most of it was off limits. You could literally stumble into the wrong area and find yourself in the middle of an orgy out in the open.

People fucking all over the pool deck the hotel lobby.  Everywhere!

And they were still taking reservations for the public. It was absolutely insane. I was 15 years old.

Barred out like a mother fucker. I tried to break a security guard's ankles and run up stairs towards the elevators that I have been to so many times before.

They chase after me. I trip on the stairs We All Fall.

I get up saying Jesus what's the big deal I'm literally just trying to go to the elevators.

As we're turning the corner I see threensked people fooling around on couch in front of elevators. 

They basically told us we've been moved to the back part of the hotel that has different hallways and entrances that will keep us separated from the convention that's going on.


Anways my point is.  That if a bunch of swingers can get together to do somthin like that.      Whats stopping us.

So yeah, enough herb talk already, damn. Something else: we watched the eclipse yesterday from this fucking huge pit we dug at the beach, with our bare hands. Moved about 3m3 wet sand with me ole hands and it was satisfying. Got 1,5 more weeks of beach fun with the kids. Swimming and frisbeeing (if that's a word) and catching crabs.

Come September, we're off to the last festival of the season, armed to the teeth. Got enough cactus swimming in an alcohol bath to really flerb up the derple, or whatever you kids say these days. Not to mention all the acid and 2C-B.

And that being said, in a highly unusual turn of events I did some math. Turns out I cut the weed intake by at least 2/3, gonna be even more after these two weeks of sobriety, so yeah. 'The one substance that will not be reined in'. Feels good.

If there ever is a shroomery convention, I wish to be represented by a plush poison dart frog, btw. Or maybe just a huge tadpole with bulging eyes.

Edit: found a spurge hawkmoth pupa (one of my favorite animals). These have gone instinct here a long time ago (sensitive to DDT). Years ago I hand-raised a batch for repopulation purposes and ever since I'm madly in love with them. Found their droppings and half-eaten host plants, but it's too late in the season for caterpillars now. This pupa was flushed out by the sea and I found it along seaweed in the middle of the beach.


The caterpillars on a different island, a month ago. Beauties

I said front row at a gwar show 2 years ago.  Got sprayed with bood shooting outta of a ripped open pig ccarcus. And spraying like jizz out of one of the lead singers 3monster dicks.:rofl2:

I gotta say. That shit was fun as hell.  They know sure  know  to spray some fake blood and make it a fun part of the show.

Cos that does sound pretty funny.


Man all I know is I seen a band "Ghoul" supporting Cannabis Corpse and they sprayed this little demonbaby staff at us in a tiny venue. It was bold as fuck in hindsight. Litres of fake blood in a tiny space.

Afterwards I swapped 2g of northern lights for a Ghoul longsleeve. Landphil from Cannabis Corpse (and Municipal Waste) was telling me how in Richmond they get ditch weed so I was trying to offer flavourful nugs- for merch like- he was saying "I dunno maaaaaaannnn." then I offered a blaze and he was like "I dunno maaaaaaaaannnnnnnnn."

but then his brother, Hallhammer, the drummer of Cannabis Corpse came out and was a really cool guy with great style. Then him, myself and my friend went and smoked slinkies on the street. Some other metalheads were slyly smoking a doobie and we were with HH smashing slinkies in the golden evening sun. So majestic.
C C went on to perform a sick as fuck set Hallhammer looked blazed as
