MushCult for the Workin' Man.

So....I started a new full time job this week. I'm still getting used to the schedule but what I'm finding is that all this working is really cutting into my mushroom time. I'm pretty low on the cultivators two most valued resourced, time and energy.
Does anyone have quick tips for an easier work flow? I've been meaning to do agar since I started this new gig, and it still doesn't happen, but when it does you'll be damn sure I'll be pouring a whole bunch of plates.

haha that's oddly close to my actual schedule. 5am alarm, crash about midnight. Personally, addys are used for those hungover days. Shit affects my appetite which in turn affects working out. No bueno.

Make use of time efficient spawn prep methods, always run a full PC, keep extra agar plates around, do SAB work or any other tedious cult related work while PCing, bucket tek.

I understand what you are going throw. When i had three jobs and worked 90+ hours a week mushroom cult seemed impossible. When you get a day off spend it all on pcing grains and knock up a hour before work the next day. Plates kerp forever if you work in asshole retail were they dont shudule you off for 86 days in a row them miss a day of sleep every Saturday night.

I usually use pastyplates for agar but I ordered a case of 500 petris to save on time and effort. My first pour didnt go so well, the bottle fell over in the pc and filled with water. Will try again tmrw and probably just carry the agar bottle upstairs to the lab. The pc is too cumbersome for stairs

Has anyone prepped oats in the morning and sat them out on the counter to dry during the work day? Do they get way too dry?

I've prepped rye in the evening and let em sit until the morning. Was always fine. You can also refrigerate

Agreed. Refrigerating prepped grains works great. Oats also work well for soak/no boil methods.

Wake up > Work with mushrooms > Go to work > Work with mushrooms again > Go to sleep > Repeat
Simple as that.

I soak my oats in 5 gallon buckets, crack the lid a little and turn it on its side in the shower and let it drain. Have left it over night and also all day that way and they don't appear to be dry
