I've just been looking back at my last post. It seems ages ago.
I've established the edibles from my B+ haul are very strong. They didn't last long, everyone loves em.
The third flush in my monotub is coming along nicely, I didn't do a dunk for the second, but it looked dry after that. So having moved the whole setup to another room and scrubbing everything. I had my fingers crossed against cross contam from my old McKennaii kit which was disposed of as soon as I realised. Thankfully, all seems well, so onwards.
I stepped up for a bigger harvest and i never dreamt I'd have more than I knew what to do with. I will soon tho, so they're going in kilner jars for now.
I've been thinking if I dare do Albino Penis Envy next. I know it's troublesome, I've successfully done a bag, an if times my only beef, I've got jars full, so I can wait. But it feels a bit risky. Maybe play it safe. Get a bag instead? Stick to easy robust strains int monotub.

Hi there. This is terrible but I don't think I know how to properly use this forum. I'm not sure if I am posting to everyone, just those who have seen my thread or if I've just been stalking Mr Kloakk, who never the less, has been amazingly helpful.
I'm trying to get some advice if poss. I'm not gonna gonna complain cos I got a lot of mushrooms from both the McKennaii bag and the B+ monotub.
But unfortunately both were struck with Trichoderma.
Disposed of everything I needed to, isopropyl'd the tub to death, put it dry in a bag in a box. Cleaned the room and will again, before I start again. I unfortunately was fanning both separately as I thought, oh no what's that. I've got a colour deficiency which isn't helping. But I keep reading that the spores see nigh on impossible to get rid of. Should I even try. I'll have lost 2 rooms to Trichoderma. I could start up in another, but I don't live in a mansion.
Am I doomed?

You don t lose a room to trich. Spores are everywhere around you alrdy.

Or is it a 2nd / third / ... flush ? From the look of the substrate it seems so. At some point it s not unusual to get some contam from what i ve understood (correct me if i m wrong the pros).

Be sure to wait for the grain to be totaly colonized before using it. 

And if you had decent harvests before i would just toss that tub.

Hi, also noob here so take this with a grain of salt, but basically all the world is lost to trich. It exists everywhere and its just a part of life. So no need to keep changing rooms :grin:

I think that you have to ensure that everything is  sterile up to the moment that you spawn. You want to give the mycelium all the advantages against any contam once they are out in the tub. If you are using store bought bags the process becomes a trich roulette :frown:

And yes that's trich, usually you can't get rid of it whatever you do. You can try to cut it out and slow it down and maybe save the flush before you have to toss it.

And as the others said, normal cleaning is all that's needed. If the spawn or AIO bags is clean and 100% colonized before it's spawned to open air it should have no problem to stop any other organisms getting to the nutrients.

It's always a gamble with the pre made kits, and I said it before, but if you want to continue with this hobby and have more consistent results, you should get a pressure canner and learn agar, but you know this.

So far, so good. In fact it's going amazingly  i did a bit of an "autopsy" on my last B+ cake. I adta do it int garden cos it was contaminated. But I learnt so much from it. I learn my lessons too. So this time I broke the pre inoculated bag thoroughly, then in the same bag, mixed in my bulk substrate. The difference is night an day. I wasted a lot of space, growing energy and aborted side pins. So probably didn't even get 50% of the potential yield. I let myself down on the lining tho. Only one comes with, an I forgot to order one with my new plugs and filters. So ont the day, I adta make do with a bin liner. I'm always learning. Or maybe I'm just wukless. Either way, if i can stay clear of contam, I should do v well.

Side note.
After a brutal few months with my poor old Dah! I woke up and thought, I've gotta fet away, or I'm gonna sink. Spent a few hours online and a few days later, on pay day. I booked my very first ever plane ticket, digs, just off Alicante's main strip. Brits abroad getting way too pissed and sharing as many STI's as poss. Wunt normally be my first choice of destination. Not cos I'm against that kinda holiday. I'm just getting too old, if i went out ont razz, full on, I'd need a week in bed to recover, I'd miss my holiday. However I'm booked into a week in an Auyuasca retreat beforehand. So it's possible I will have no interest in the "strip". I do still enjoy a dance tho. So i doubt that.

I musta been abroad 10/15 times. 10 of which with my dad, "back home" he'd call it, the Caribbean. The rest ex girlfriends, my mum, either way, I'd be taken on holiday. It's only occurred to me how lame that is, I'm nearly blasted 50.
Put that right tho. I can't bloody wait. Next month.
