It is our custom, but not everyone chooses to make a speech and that is totally fine. your response was awesome. I was really hoping you'd get the stardew ref.

Two questions though if you have time:

1.  what are you dying those plates with? I've never much been interested in dyed plates, but it would appear you've mastered some kind of stardew amethyst plates.

2. What are you working on for you bil? I'm always interested in an electrical thing.

I like it. I really got to know Dali's work for the first time rolling my tits off on some "E" I found on a chair in the breakroom at a restaurant I used to work at. It was just sitting there in a little baggie. I couldn't believe it. My first payroll job, I think. A friend of mine had a table book of his work. I remember sitting in this big comfy chair he had in his chill room, obsessing over pages. Man... that was a lifetime ago.

1. Those plates are dyed with Colour Mill Oil Blend Food Coloring, which I bought specifically because it had wholesome looking ingredients and not a bunch of crazy shit. Only to learn that it actually does contain vaguely fungicidal red colorants, it just calls it some different name and not red3. Myc has had some mixed responses to it, seems that some (particulary ps cyan) like a challenge, but it's probably doing some harm. Shame, because the color is fucking spellbinding, they're a treat IRL. The big batch I did with them had peptone and yeast as well though, so maybe I do some regular mixes before writing them off.

2. Nothing too wild. They're out of town and had their 2nd kid a few months ago, so my ex is redoing a bunch of stuff in their bathroom. I popped in to put the bathroom lightswitch actually IN the fuckin bathroom, and use the old slot to put a ceiling light in their foyer, just general touchups. But it's a century house that was built in about 3 stages so simple things are a slog. Was also gonna put some bay lights in their garage but 21k lumens per fixture is a bit intense, and the ceiling is 14-16ft or thereabouts. I did one, got mildly blinded, and decided that this should get further approval before I bust my shit for a surprise that might have to come right out. (I do have the same ones in my spot and love them. Hyperlites or whatever. 240,000 lumens at ~8ft is certainly a choice, but I never wonder what I'm looking at. One is quick to learn where not to look up, and then it's smooth sailing.)

Every now and then, a new member comes along who makes you stop and think, "Yeah... this one's going to be around for a while.."

Today I'm happy to give MushLuvR77 the honorary title of Noob of the Moment.

This wasn't a difficult choice. I was real happy when he was selected by popular choice amongst the vets and TCs, and even happier when I was asked to do this

Over the past several months he's consistently shown exactly the kind of attitude that makes this community what it is. He's friendly, helpful, humble, and always willing to share what he's learned. More importantly, he doesn't just answer questions—he explains *why* something works, and that's the mark of someone who's really put in the time.

I ended up bookmarking so many of his posts that I had to force myself to stop adding links. Hopefully he doesn't give me too much grief for putting half of his posting history on display, but credit deserves to be given where it's earned.

Don't let the account age or post count fool you.

Whether he's talking about outdoor grows, Martha setups, Pan/Cope cultivation, casing techniques, harvest timing, or helping brand-new growers troubleshoot problems, he consistently demonstrates the experience, patience, and practical knowledge you'd expect from a longtime cultivator.

Just as importantly, he carries himself well. He's encouraging without being condescending, confident without being arrogant, and always seems interested in helping people succeed.

Those are exactly the kinds of members that make forums worth coming back to.

So please join me in giving a warm round of applause to MushLuvR77[/larger]  Congratulations on being our latest *Noob of the Moment* — t's well deserved, and I think we're all looking forward to seeing what you grow (and what you teach us) next.

WoW, I knew nothing about this and thought the DM (from Fid) was a prank, made me laugh, but now, I'm a little emotional, so thank you everyone for seeing me and welcoming me with open arms. Honestly, the turning point for me was wanting to grow edible/med woodie blocks on the cheap.  AT the time, they wanted 20 bucks for a colonized block, fast forward a bit, did some homework, and bought a bag of pellets, already had the Rice bran (all in one cube experiments), BLOCK party going down.

I know sometimes in a forum you feel like, you aren't recognized or your text is just floating out there in cyberspace, but again, WoW you blew me away today and I appreciate all of you... Mush Luv... Thank You!
