If do a test now then one in 2 weeks…i could probably tell if it has diluted in someway as long as the concentration of the tea remains the same

Ok so this is a test and I’m not sure if I’ve done it correctly or how it will hold up but this is what I’ve done
I made a tea out of one cup of water only and 1.5 g of pans
I used one of my test kits and only drew up the syringe full of tea and injected that into the capt vile , then I placed that in the pot of hot water as described in the instructions

For what it’s worth this is my end product
In a couple weeks or next time, i’m going to drink my tea. I will test it and look at the comparison.

Tested some high potency strains lately

Psilocybe cyanescens Is the vile on the right and Psilocybe
ochraceocentrata is the vile on the left
Basically both vials are so dark that I don’t need to show the chart next to them ,It’s impossible to even see-through to tell The potency.

In the future, I’ll have to cut the test sample in half and see if that will give me a potency reading

My TTBVI pegs the meter.  I used 20mg instead of 50mg and measured 15mg/g and multiplied 50/20 x 15 mg/g to get 3.75% actives

Pan cambo 1.95%
Ochra 1.19%

These were done with the miraculix tester today if that information is of any use....at least another data point.

Might be worthwhile just to shoot for a sample size that will read about 1% on the meter which seems to be the middle of the range.  50mg might be good for something like cubes...20-25mg  for pans. 
If it reads above max which is around 2.2% on mine it seems then you have to dilute the stuff after extraction and processing and that is a little harder to keep accurate I think and I guess you would just dilute it with more extraction solution.  Anyhow, the instructions do tell you to use lighter weights for more concentrated specimens.

I need to homogenize my samples more, but my spice grinder does not powder pans that well...They are so light, they just kind of float up and whirl around the container.  Maybe a mortar and pestle would do better.

Did two tests today, with black cap ochras and hispanica. The ochras were top-fruited in grass seed topped with a little coco, the hispanica in PF tek mix (verm+BRF). I ground each to fine powder in a mortar and pestle, and otherwise tried to follow the Miraculix instructions as closely as possible. I only got 0.95 ml through the strainer for each.

How do these look? I took a couple pictures, some in artificial light, some in what passes for natural light here in January.

Ochra -- the first picture (artificial light) looks like 1.8%, but more like the low end of 1.5% in the other two (natural light). Maybe 1.4 - 1.5%?







Hispanica -- 1.0%?

Also, how do you all dispose of the test kit vials afterward?

I'd say Hispanica 1.1 from far 1.2 close up. For ochra 1.5? I usually just go with the lower number to be sure I'm not over estimating. Add for disposal, I just toss mine in the trash, and put the needles in a weed pre roll pop top and toss it in the trash too.

Alright....

Did a lot of testing today...........Problem is I was in a tremendous hurry (had an appointment I had to get to) and rushed the last and most important step and did it wrong so results are tainted, but still useful I think.  Weighted out amounts carefully  (22-50mg depending on strain and expected potency).  Better homogeneity could've been obtained by grinding up a large sample and taking from that, but I just grabbed a fingerful from top of jar and crushed it up.  Followed instructions carefully on extraction and detection solution.  Blanked the miraculix tester as prescribed, but could not remember which way the damn tubes went in the reader.  They are supposed to go where it reads through the thicker part of the vial (there is even an arrow on the test vial),  I tried it both ways (blanking both ways as well).  Went with the direction that gave lower readings.  The readings in the correct direction were slightly more than double and I thought the other numbers sounded more reasonable.  So took all the readings with the erroneous method that gave lower results.  So in the end I doubled them.  The TTBVI read out of range high in the correct orientation with 22mg which is just insane....This works out to over 5% and this may be in the ballpark because 500mg of these jokers is a hell of a ride.

These are all freeze dried and have been in jars since date listed (all seals held).

TTBVI 11/25 4.86%
Semperviva 3/26 3.08%
Ochra 10/24 2.14%
Golden Teacher 9/24 1.6%
P Cyan Aus 5/25 3.94%
Wild Ochra 1/26 1.28%
TTBVI 10/25 4.56%
Pcam 11/25 2.86%
Pcam 12/25 2.85%

Now take all of this with the above information that I used the meter wrong and doubled the results, but I did test it both ways and the right way was reading twice the incorrect way and the relative strengths are still valid.  Again the above numbers are with tube in wrong orientation and then doubling the results.  Figured I would still post it up and I will do it right next time.

For the test I pulled 1g random shrooms and powdered them up. The test calls for 0.150g but I use 0.075g to help with the color variation. This means the results must be doubled. Results were read in direct sunlight.
Results:
It changed a darker green then any others I tested that day.
I'm seeing 15mg/g or 1.5%. Double that too get 30mg/g or 3%! Hell yeah! Thank you Buddaking!
