Ignore the link I have in my signature for a second because your advice is genuinely dangerous for some people.
You should not try to play your own doctor and just guess what's wrong with you if you think there is something that needs to be improved in your life there's nothing wrong with seeking professional help to figure it out. There is a name for the condition. They do have a treatment plan based off of what word they decide is the one that is appropriate for your condition.
Medication is there to be used and it's saved people's lives in some cases and just rejecting all science and medicine in favor of full monkey is a terrible bit of advice.

There's a balance. You don't need a doctor to tell you you're gonna be on an SSRI for the rest of your life. It doesn't mean that you didn't need some medical intervention though.

Let's just chill out all right.

In my opinion, do you, if someone doesn't like that, it's fine. See, I'm best served in small doses and not to often, but that's okay. Ain't nobody ever going to know the real me or you, the mind is alone, but that is fine as well.

This is worse than unhelpful, it's actively harmful advice. I hope you never have to deal with the pain of losing someone who took their own life after seeking help and being told they didn't need treatment.

I don't know everything. I dont know HOW fucked up he is or were. I do know that sitting in a room overpaying some clown with a shit psychiatry or psychology degree to listen to u whine for an hour is a useless scam. When I grew up it was just the way things were. You didnt cry or look for 'help' or get on some thread which didnt exist at the time. You put ur big boy pants on and face the world as it is and as you are. That or be a whiny b**ch about ur 'antisocial' or 'borderline' feelings where it is so easy to lie or give bad advice.. Being an ornery c**t is called getting old. Its not a disorder. Most of them are just responses to our age, and the times and cultures we live in. You also change with age, hopefully. Im not the same dude i was 5 yrs ago. Im lonely, introverted but I am content. Dont chase happiness. Be content. Happiness is fleeting like waking up from a dream. I learned awhile ago that in the medical profession keeping u sick and 'treating it' is the name of the game. Btw, not opposed to obviosities like statins or metformin. I take those. But the SSRIs can be permanently damaging and horrible to ween off of. Right now I realize im sounding like a c**t and lost the plot myself. And, I might be absolutely wrong, which is easy to be on here which was my original point. sorry. ill stop typing.

I believe the 2 dont have to be exclusive. You can look for love and grow and learn and try to 'be happy' but also be content with where u are. u dont have to be miserable until u reach that next plateau. You can learn and improve and chase whatever dreams u want but at least appreciate ur surroundings and smell the flowers. Enjoy the beauty of the world and ur absolute meaninglessness in the grand scheme of things. ppl who are consistently unsatisfied and looking for that next level, the joy is in the struggle and when you reach that next level ur still unappreciative and looking up further still. Constantly unsatisfied, not enjoying the things around u. For what? Ego? Money? girls? (or guys). Chasing a better life is never bad but be appreciative of the way things are. Not the way u want them to be.

Characterizing someone simply because of their age is not wise. People come from all different situations and backgrounds throughout all of history. Thats like me calling u Samoan because ur name is tropical. I am content. Ill not go into it again. It took me a long time to grow the F up and realize that no one cares about my anecdotal feelings.  You have to find ur own 'happiness' or 'contentment' unless u have been hand fed it for free your whole life. If that happens it will be hard to ever be satisfied. Cuz unless ur a drop dead knockout beauty up until u die, that shit stops at some point.
So, ya, I'm content. But not because of my age. Because Ive made every dumb mistake someone can make in life and Im still here, in one piece. There are so many times I should have died that I didnt. People always remember the bad shit cuz u have to for next time it may happen. Never the great things that happen everyday. Cuz life mostly goes the way we want it. We only notice when it doesnt. It could be SOOO much worse than being relatively poor in America.
