MYCO BAG BLISS

Hello, I am Sypriss. I wanted to come in here and make my first post about the amazing outcome and success that I have had with my MYCO Bags. They are just awesome. I have yielded over an ounce of dried shrooms in one months time, and I am still going strong. This technique is so easy and almost fool-proof, that I am totally recommending it. So now that I have said my piece on how thankful I am to have found this contraption, I will leave by saying, Everyone should try them at least once, thay are GREAT. Sypriss

Great! I have a few questions for you: What strain did you use? How many bags did you use? What was the weight of your first flush? How long did it take from innoculation to first flush? What temperature did you colonize them at? Pin them at? What is the total weight that the bag[s] produced? Do you have any pictures? I'm eagerly awaiting your answers!

Hi, Workman has answered many of those questions. Just go to search and type bags, and you will see the results and the technique which is quite simple.

Psilocyber, I started out my experiment with one single bag. After about 2 1/2 weeks the first bag became enveloped with white, and very, very shortly after this (one week), the sides of the bag were teaming with shrooms! Beautiful shrooms! The first flush from the first bag was a few grams over a half an ounce. (17 grams) But within 1 and 1/2 weeks of resealing the bag, just under three ounces (freshly picked) were yielded from the second flush. (That's a ton of shrooms) I am currently waiting on the third flush.

Psilosurfer, Most of your questions I ended up answering to Psilocyber, so try to read that post. but as for my incubation of the bags, here we go...... I used the cubensis strain. Before the fruiting began I kept the bag at 81-82 degrees, In a home-made incubator. After about 2 1/2 weeks, I found some fruiting and moved the temperature down to around 76-78, where it stayed untill I harvested the first flush. After removing the first flush, I kept the temperature at 76-78 untill the sencond flush was complete. I am currently waiting on the third. I did take pictures of the first flush( 3 grams over a half ounce.)I will check to see if they are clear enough to go through my scanner.. My second flush was quite large (just under three ounces) but they were bought from me so fast I did not have the chance to get pictures.

I have a question about the myco bags... As i plan on making a dream soon with them and it would be my first mycology dream.. Must you sterilize the bags as you do every other substrate... or do you just add spores and moisture? Do they come with instructions? Could someone enlighten me where I could search to find such things.. muchos gracias in advance.... Oh.. by the way tomatoe farmer.. I to am sick of bama shrooms as well

Swab a small spot on outside of bag with alcohol, squirt in some spores, tape over hole and put back in the box bags came in. Let sit about a month then harvest.

Anytime that my friend did not sterilize the bags they filled with wet spot within a week. The first few tries at sterilization resulted in melted bags and lots of mess. Don't seal the bags during PC or they will burst. Anybody that says otherwise had leaks in their seal or bag. If the bag touches the walls of the PC it will probably melt. You can tie the bag into shape using cotton (not nylon) string. You bag must have a vent for gas exchange... usually a filter patch built into the bag. You can find bags from fungi perfect (www.fungi.com). Once you get the hang of using bags, you will never want to switch back!

LOL I know you wasnt knocking it, and I hate to sound like a sock puppett but I believe its a great product for a newbie... Just go to sporeworks.com and look under the supplies and you ll see the instructions and pics of the bags in action. Looks like from all the posts here everyone is averaging about 1/2 oz dry per bag and its 4 bags for 50 bucks.. hope this helps and good luck

The bags are awesome, a great entreprenurial idea. Unfortunately sporeworks knows that they are the only ones with anything like that on the market right now and they are charging ridiculous prices for them. $15 !???! They are selling their autoclavable spawn bags for 15 for $5! It costs that much more to fill with some substrate and sterilize?! At least they could make the bags bigger with more substrate in them.....jeez. Sporeworks is a company that has done alot for the hobby and is constantly developing new products to help cultivators but it is kind of like the drug company that makes a new drug people need and are charging like hell for it. Please sporeworks, bring down the prices! Or at least increase the substrate amount....
