Myco Bag - Incubation Problems

Okay, here is an overview of the procedure:

I recieved 1 EQ syringe and 4 Myco Environment Bags from Sporeworks on 2/08/01, and proceeded to innoculate the bags.

I took a shower, put on freshly laundered clothes, washed my hands with antibacterial soap, and strapped a dust mask to my face. I sterilized my workspace by spraying the walls/countertops with a 10% bleach solution, let it sit for 10 minutes, and wiped dry with a clean terrycloth.

I sterilized a spot on the outside of a myco bag with 70% isopropyl alcohol, sterilized the needle with 70% isopropyl alcohol, and inserted the needle into the 'air balloon' above the substrate. I injected a little over 2cc's spore solution, removed the needle, and immediately taped over the hole with scotch tape. I then mixed up the substrate and broke up all the chunks to distribute the the spore solution.

I repeated the process with the remaining bags.

I put the bags back in the box, and put the box in a warm and dark place. The temperature varies between 75-85 degrees f.

It has been 10 days. The bags look exactly like they did when i recieved them. No mycelium growth is apparent.

What could be the problem? Do you have any advice? Was there a flaw in my procedure?

I would give it a couple more days, then if you still see nothing contact sporeworks. They will probably hook you up.

You may need another syringe.

Did you gently shake the syringe a bit before you injected the liquid?

Yes, it helps break up the chunks of spores that have stuck together to distribute them into the water more evenly-
