your setup is good, and those myco bags are really easy...i fruited mine in the box it came in, and didn't even cold shock it. I wouldn't mess with it, but that's just my guess.

No problem, just do it now , or when you see the first mycelium growing. Growth will stall shortly , but will continue later. I recommend not "Massaging" after you?ve got a quarter of the substrate colonized.

3)Once fully colonized, would it be acceptable to simply lower the temp of my incubator and introduce some light to induce fruiting? From what I understand the bags maintain humidity on there own, unless you wanted to remove it from the bag.

The way I understand invirto growing is a waste! Can?t you case the mycelia?
That way you should get more shrooms.

Im sorry , but I cant answer the other question. Good luck!

Jazz is right, you should definately case them. It will be well worth it and really doesn't take all that much. My cased straw innoculated from a mycobag is fruiting now and I am extremely excited to see that I will have enough fruits for me and quite a few friends. Leaving in the bag will hardly suffice for your self and if you want to share you may have to wait for a different flush.

Right on shlauncha! I've got almost the exact same grow going.. I've got 2 myco-bags and one rye bag inocculated with TLG's creeper and the last myco-bag with stropharia.  I innoculated mine on the 25th, when did you?

Also, I didn't massage either.. I was always under the assumption that you massage later on when the mycelium has colonized a good portion of the substrate.  So I wouldn't worry about it-- especially since you've got the incubator set up.

Speaking of Incubators, I am NOT using one.. :frown: Its rediculous how broke I am.. anyways I'm curious to see JUST how much faster yours colonize compared to mine.. heh.

To answer your other questions.. if I were you I would drop the temp to like 84, just in case.. since the plastic is so thin.. Or you could put some cardboard under them.. But thats just me.

Ok... so how are we gonna fruit, thats a great question.. You have a choice of fruiting them in the bag, or casing obviously.. and I disagree with the former remark about getting shitty ass yeilds.. I've heard of some really good yields in the bag.. nevertheless-- since you've got the space apparently, why not try casing one or two.  I dunno any great teks, but I am curious if anyone else has suggestions.

Ok.. sorry.. that was long as shit.  Anyways, I wanna know your innoc date and shit so we can compare..

If I were you I would drop a temp to 82F.
I'm not sure If I see it right.... Your water level seems very low.  It looks like you have about two inches of water in the bottom tub. (not really sure...) If that is correct the walls of the inner rubermaid will be colder then bottom, in my opinion - no good. I would use plastic ties to connect two tubs and then add more water. Ever though what will happen if ALL water evaporate ?
Peace
