I'm a crybaby, sad sack the last 6 months around here and they mostly still accept me. These folks are understanding and patient. The best community on the market.

Well thanks

I do think, truly, the shitty times are what makes us better people.

Gotta be some reason for the nonsense.

When i have such a surplus of mushrooms, my drive to grow more greatly diminishes.

That being said. I think my future in cultivation lies in making outdoor beds. The implications of having a living spot that provides such a bounty.

I would give them all away if I could.

I think I knew about it, but that movie was when it really hit home for me too.

Watch 30 days of night. It's about Alaska, and it's rampant vampirism problem.

So I'm wondering, what happened to this place?  Specifically The Shroomery.

It seems that this place was bumping all the way through the 2010's.  And maybe 2020 and it ended 2021.  Or so it seems.

Has anyone here witnessed the decline?  I mean, I'm sure all message boards across the web have dried up and all that.  I'm glad for the community that stays.

I got here after that and I've seen an incline in traffic.
Even with all of the search engines trying to default everybody into the AI. I still see new users showing up here.

Seems like it comes in waves.  Like a mushroom trip....

But days will go by with no posts, then a whole bunch of activity.

I think a lot of people are getting weirded out with various issues and playing some things closer to the chest.

From the year I’ve even been here, the increase in “my friend has a question about his grow” shot has skyrocketed.

So maybe something to do with it. Not sure. Since AI pushes Reddit though, people might get more distracted by that site and post there more frequently.

It seems outright offensive that there's multiple mushroom subs but ours got banned.

Theres been a drop off everywhere I think people have been swapping hobbies post covid. 2020-22ish you had uncle bens tek blowing up and discord grew massively. Its more convenient for a lot of people to talk on big platforms.

I imagine it's a bunch of stuff, but mostly tied to age demographic change. There's always people aging out of a thing like this, and others aging in. But the shroomery is shaped by and for the internet of text. People today like videos, galleries, shorts. Forums are slow and unnatural. And require writing. And reading. Plus they're outside the walled garden. Seems like a lot of people's digital lives start and end on reddit/fb/ig/discord. And they like it like that.

Really? I feel like cult has never been more popular or a smaller deal. 15 years ago shrooms were pretty esoteric shit, and the idea of a teacher knowing about it was scary. Now they're everywhere, nbd, who gives a shit. This might be very different in other countries, but at least in most of the US. Hell I've bought shrooms legally like a 10 minute drive from the white house. Feels like weed did 20 years ago. Not legal, but definitely crossing some interesting cultural boundaries where grandma goes from threatening an eternal life of hellfire to sheepish curiosity.

I don't mean to trivialize the risk or taboo that still exists, just that it seems to be trending downward.
